Drove it 170kms.
Got jealous of the guys I was driving with so lowered my car another .75 of an inch when I got home and put 3mm spacers in the rear.

DIY question (figure this is a good place to ask)

My battery has been draining completely dead every several days (has happened twice now) I figure I needed a new battery but this last time that it drained after I charged it back up the Alarm has stopped working

The led wont blink, the remote doesn't work (stopped) but since the alarm stopped working I haven't had a complete battery drain issue yet although its just been a couple days

So my question is, is it the battery or has something gone wrong with the alarm ?

mb_ 09-26-2013 04:51 AM

Not uncommon for aftermarket alarms to drain the shit out of batteries so that's what could be happening

Get it properly diagnosed first thought before you drop money on a new battery

Is there a fuse for the alarm? I'd take it to Soundsgood for a diagnosis. Chances are, yeah, the alarm was draining the batt.

Reset everything.
Charge battery.
Unplug ground to battery.
Hold brakes for 5-15 seconds.
Re-plug battery.

If that doesn't work, bring it to Sounds Good.
I drained my battery after accidently leaving the lights on overnight. Boosted it, then the turbo timer or Alarm was acting up, and I couldn't turn off the car. Key out and Turbo Timer off, still drove. Weird.

Brought it to Sounds Good while it was still on, and had to stall it out in thier lot. They fixed it in no time.

Turned my methanol system on and put the car on the dyno.
I wanted to hit the 600whp mark but was surprised how easy it was to surpass it.
626whp and 523wtq @ 24psi. My boost solenoid is only at 50% too! The turbo still has a lot more in it!!!

IMO, You shouldn't get winter tires in the 1st place

Overnight Temps are dropping fast... who is gonna make the transition to Winter Mode and when?

dared3vil0 10-01-2013 02:25 PM

^ I'm not going to bother with winters, the Mustang would be useless in the snow even with them... The FX4 is for the snow.

I am going to hold off for a little bit, probably end up switching near the end of October. Everyone told me that the kooks I have are good in the wet, but even I am very pleasantly surprised at their performance in even the most extreme wet conditions we have been having lately.

Kinda excited to put my winter wheels on though; however, definitely not excited about having my wheels sit like 2 inches inside my fenders (not planning on running any spacers on my winter setup).

I did see a couple cars rolling around with ski racks already, thats a bit optimistic in my opinion.

There's a difference between optimistic....and just that they were never taken off from previous season

I only saw a few cars like that all summer, so the sudden spike in seeing ski racks seems a little weird, but yeah your probably right.

The other factor is people who switched from driving summer cars to winter cars that they never took the ski racks off of.

Either way how lazy do you have to be? Thats like leaving your christmas lights on your house all the time, its just a pet peeve of mine...

Replaced the rear shocks in the Pathfinder today. So far it's made a world of difference. The old ones were so shot that they actually collapsed on themselves once they were pulled off the car. :lol

Also got to admire a Frankenstein Ford/Chevy while working on the Pathy:

What year is your Ford/Chevyenstein?!?

I'm probably picking up a Studebaker in a couple weeks to start working on

It's my uncle's, actually. I believe it's a '48. Has a Chevy 327 under the hood. Certainly gets both the Ford AND Chevy guys going at the classic car meets... :lol

fliptuner 10-02-2013 07:07 PM

You rarely catch Chevy guys putting Ford motors under the hood but Ford guys use Chevy's all the time.

Such a sick car.

I swapped my snowies onto the car last night. Figured I may as well do it now, while it wasn't raining and bloody cold.
