Bled the brakes, topped up all the fluids, checked for leaks, balanced the wheels. - Saturday track day with the beater!

E36 Beater fun :lawl:

westopher 12-03-2013 02:50 PM

I wouldn't even call that a beater man. You paid beater price for an awesome car.

sonick 12-03-2013 02:58 PM

+1, looks very clean... DS2's on a beater?

tofu1413 12-03-2013 03:03 PM

DS2.. because race car. Got them balanced and theres still a slight vibration...

Last owner on BCB was super anal with the car. He really spent time and effort in it.. and for the price he asked for it, it was a steal.

Great car imo. Its very well sorted out. ATE Super blue brake fluid and a fresh bleed makes it feel so much better :sweetjesus:

The car would eventually be nicer if it had a new set of bilsteins... and a proper LSD...

Got the settlement cheque from icbc for the supra and within two hours went to buy this car :lawl:

westopher 12-03-2013 03:08 PM

I have rear bilsteins with 20k on them and m3 springs in my closet.

tofu1413 12-03-2013 03:17 PM

^ hmmm tempting.. all depends on price for those rear billies!

I'll do the other half of the ass tomorrow.:)

Mr.C 12-03-2013 07:41 PM

Plugged it in, because it's going to be -21C overnight :(

Fuck I hate bleeding Honda cooling systems - takes forever, especially when it's this cold out.

XplicitLuder 12-04-2013 08:10 AM

We only took the coolant from the rad so I guess it wasn't a full flush. Wasn't too bad. We have a nipple so it was easy to see when all the bubbles was gone

Yeah.

The other half was closing them. I did that the next day...

I was actually just drying all the door jambs when I took this picture...:okay:

Warranty ended so I finally decided to install JB4 stage 3 tune + dual cone intakes:
http://i.imgur.com/H2STZI9.jpg

I was extremely lucky to find the JB4 PNP for less than $60 shipped... It is insane how this $60 tuning device which just looks like a bunch of wires can give a dyno proven 80whp/70torque. Best $60 i've spent on my car, install was fun and successful.

Dual cone intakes were around $80, gives an additional 15whp on top of the tune. Install took a while because of OEM seals.

$140 and about 2.5 hours of installation for 95whp/80 torque ... damn.

On the fly map switching to change boost PSI, highjack fuel gauge for boost gauge and etc...

Next mod: catless downpipes to crack 400whp.

Going from stock to tuned is a great feeling eh?

Now you can surprise M3s :fullofwin:

westopher 12-04-2013 11:32 PM

Won't be surprising me in my m3....I'm so slow I wouldn't even fuck with a stock 335i or probably a 328i for that matter. :okay:

tofu1413 12-05-2013 02:00 AM

damn you twin turbo N54s!!!! :okay: thats cheating. :okay:

although... I dont have constant failing injector and fuel pumps :troll:

Put my car away for the winter, see ya in 2014!

Acura604 12-05-2013 12:00 PM

after religiously washing my car myself in my driveway, the current cold temps are just too much... I caved and ran it through the Chevron TOUCHLESS 'deluxe wash' package. $9.99 + tax. Overall, pretty good.. as expected, the brake dust on the wheels will have to be wiped off manually and the rear end needs a wipe or 2. BUT it looks like it pretty much got rid of all the grime buildup after 2 weeks of no washing.

I might prefer this over SHINE on main/terminal.

Sure is fun after the tune, I'm only on map 5 (auto-tune) and it only gets to about 12 psi on WOT.

Yeah read a lot on the failing fuel pumps, but they extended the warranty for 10 years so even the next owner of the car will be covered.

Can't wait till I install catless DP + FMIC :) Not ballsy enough to mess with meth yet.

which chevron is it?

!SG 12-05-2013 07:09 PM

last night was shop night.

readjusted r/r coilover, but took about an hour cleaning and unseizing the top coilover collar nut. at least now the rears are even height.

no pics, due to grease and rust-off sprayed everywhere. felt good to work on the car... surprised most of my techs i actually could wrench.

Yup. No 5 and Steveston. The $12.99 deal includes rainX as well.

Unfortunately, i'll have to wait till SUMMER to get my TL treated like this TL:
