Had my engine pulled on Friday, and towed the car back to my grandparents' garage. I really wanted to help drop it, but the shop was pretty busy and the last thing they wanted was a little noob attempting (and probably fucking up) an engine removal haha. Went in on Sunday quickly, and just pulled off the heat shield and throttle body inlet. That's all I had time for, since all we went there for was to retrieve a car for sale. Cue mb_ Gonna go back tomorrow and strip some more down, and hopefully have a bare long block by the end of the week.
Oh, and engine bay picture. Much dirty.

enjoying the E36 on a slow basis...
installed a K&N short ram w/ heat shield..
and deleted the muffler as well. has a nice tone, but a bit loud. getting used to it though...
and since the damn car came with a trailer hitch that I was hesitant to remove... I found a trailer hitch compatible rack for $40 at pittsburgh tools in seattle!
so I assembled it and slapped it on..
now I can haul more tires! (or other crap that wont get into the car..)
got HK20000 to do a field test..
world's first 7 seater E36!

Bought an E-Sys token to do some coding to my F30, which I've done the following so far:
- Fold/Unfold mirrors via Comfort Access - Lock and Unlock via Door Handles
- Added the menu to Configure Sport mode (Drivetrain & Chassis, either one or both)
- Cornering Lights via Fog Lights - Lights up those corners real well when I turn
- Gear Indicator in S mode (Transmission) - Shows S1-S7 instead of DS for gear
- BMW Live & Internet - Not working - Still trying to figure out how to enable Data Connection via BT without removing BMW Assist
and the one I'm most happy with, given that I cracked it myself because information was a bit scarce on this.
Enabled Real Time Traffic Info via RDS-TMC, which is disabled by default for Canadian vehicles! (Yes, went to Bellingham for a grocery and gas run)
Was a productive day.

world's first 7 seater E36! | Does that thing just float around attached to the hitch? My car came with one too and I have no idea how to use it haha, that looks like a great investment
Washing underground is great when it's cold outside Also lowered it another half inch or so, going to get a camber kit, do some fender work then lower it some more |

Did a bunch of tiny mods today Took off carbon fiber vinyl, replaced with gloss black vinyl. Not sure why but I never really liked the CF, maybe interior colour? Hardest piece done for now Full black emblem.
Dark black tint on fog lights (If anyone is wondering why... I'm trying to hide them.)
Got a free AFE Stage 2 Intake (Soon to be replaced, lost around 5whp. Sounds cool though. ) |

Damn T4rawr keeps putting ideas into my head on things to do with my car. This one was simple, but it meant I could combine the two Canadian Superstore bins I had floating around the back of my Pathfinder into one lockable storage container, and the load bar helps keep it from shifting during motion.
Not a bad way to spend $30 or so, I think. Especially now that I can keep all my dirty off-road bits contained.
edit: Yes, I still need to finish cleaning the trunk. And don't mind the vodka and pepsi... it was the only thing keeping me warm today while cleaning out the Pathfinder. |

Knowing how to weld + fab comes in handy.
Would redo it if I had time. It was a quick cut, align, weld job.

Not done today, but over a course of a couple days.
Started taking stuff off my engine, able to get both manifolds off, as well as the main wiring harness, turbo, downpipe, oil cooler, water neck, EGR, thermostat housing, sparkplug wires and cam gear cover.
Went from this:
To this:
More pictures in my journal, lol.
