Going from a lowered car with stiff suspension running 45 profile tires to an SUV with 75 profile tires... Man, what a difference in ride comfort. Forgot how nice actual comfortable driving can be. :lol

How do you guys clean your undercarriage in the spring? Throw some jackstands under it and get out the pressure washer?

I clean out the wheel wells and the underbody when I change the tires back to summers.

5 degrees Celsius
Freezing cold water

And bonus... Am sick with a cold.

But it didn't stop me from doing a quick wash. Could
not believe how dirty it was after over a month
of no hand washes. Was tired of looking at the
caked on grime.

No time... Had to do an express job while I still had daylight but I'll remember for next time!

dared3vil0 12-23-2013 04:10 PM

Mhm, it was fantastic to have hot water blasting out of the hose, kept mah hands nice and warm. I just bought an adapter from home depot for like 7 bucks that allowed me to connect the tap in the laundry room to a 100' hose.

Use hot/warm water for the wash buckets and wear gloves. It helps!

radioman 12-23-2013 05:03 PM

Thats what I did. Used warm water in the buckets and sacrificed using the hose for pre rinse and rinse.

This is the foam gun that I use:

http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/autogeek_2270_109913871

I didn't buy a foam cannon b/c I like to wash my car often and I don't always have time to lug out my pressure washer.

radioman 12-23-2013 06:12 PM

Where did you pick up the foam gun?

dared3vil0 12-23-2013 07:27 PM

I got a very similar one off of amazon.ca for like 30 bucks.

Replaced my mirror with one I found at a junkyard in Surrey after someone smashed my original one to pieces the other day when it snowed. Glad/surprised the junkyard had one as my car isn't that common and 3 door ones use different mirrors than 5 doors, ordering a new one from the states would've been more expensive!

second oil change in a week -- oil came out gloopy as hell for only having ~500 KMs on it. Hoping most of the sludge is gone now.
Also did a second drain + refill of the tranny fluid, and tracked down a bunch of random squeeks/rattles, fixed 6 broken door clips in the process

People like me like people like you!
I love working on clean cars and no one takes the time to clean in here.

I sold my delsol project and bought a Chev 454 big block for my Scout as well as some engine goodies so will be building a 550hp tire burner in the new year and today just took some time to wash my jeep its been a couple months!
