Jack stand aside (OP just risked damaging his car if his widow maker jack had failed, he doesn't need to be underneath the car to work on brakes). Do you need that many tools and add that much anti squeal compound (that's rather messy not to mention a pain to remove next time around)?

7mm hex bolt, 1 socket wrench, 19mm socket, torque wrench and a brake spreader will get the thing apart and back together.

imp_squared 01-10-2014 04:49 AM

meh all trolls, jokes, and drama aside.

that is his car, he can install his brakes on his car the anyway he wants to.

unless his brake installation harms or affects you mental or physically.

if that is the case get that checked out by a doctor and get it in writing, that another man's brake installation on his car affects you enough not to be able to work, and sue him?? hahaha

I don't give a shit at all, its just common sense to use jack stands so that you don't damage your car or have it fall on you.

I mean do you stand on a chair with wheels when trying to replace a light bulb? You may, but it certainly isn't the safest thing to do...

I only re-iterated the joke, because it is a long standing joke on MCM, and it's funny.

snails 01-10-2014 09:54 AM

if you dont wanna use jack stands at least put the wheel thats off the car under the body as a safety precaution, i have had a car fall and that wheel saved my life for sure. i usually use jack stands but int that case i didnt have any with me at the moment

anyways back to what i did to my car! picked up another transmission, my current one has a bad 3rd gear grind, on the way to get the trans my alternator exploded and was shooting sparks everywhere then it died, i managed to get my car home just as it ran out of power.

sourced another good alt for $0 will be installing tomorrow morning

+1 for Hondas and their cheap, accessible parts!

cued the music, had a shop night with my buddies for a donor swap.

Big Thanks to alpha 1 automotive for hosting a shop night of hooning and non sense.

Did a 3.15 LSD swap for the car, along with full bilstein sports / H&R race combo, M3 catback, B&M short shifter, Ferodo Brake pads... and many many other things that I have forgot from the top of my head.

Race drop H&R has a nice stance. Not a huge difference in lowering compared to the factory optional M tech suspension (my car came with it somehow.. on the build sheet)

great shop night along with krovi, 325ismsport, hk20000 and a few more guys! Lots of cussing, hooning, swearing, cursing... but all in all, a great night with buddies!

installed a Momo monte carlo 350mm today... waiting for a proper slip ring =/ gotta get a convertible X underbrace installed along with front tower bar..

preview of whats to come:

SO many e36. Just missing a purple one. Nice find with those m-tech wheels. Some m-tech mouldings and front bumper would really complete the look.

westopher 01-11-2014 08:35 AM

Fuck, you got such a good deal on that car.

tofu1413 01-11-2014 08:39 AM

^ need a back up E36? :troll:

at least you know this one is sorted out :fullofwin:

AstulzerRZD 01-12-2014 10:10 PM

Installed Philips Xtreme Power (+80, 55w, 9006) bulbs to replace the OEM low beams on my 7th Gen 4 Door V6 Accord.

Honda neglected to mention that twisting counter clockwise to remove the bulb requires enough force to rotate the headlight assembly and crack the alignment tabs on one of the bulbs. Also discovered that the highbeams were SilverStars!

Will post pics soon!

Installed this giant ass CAI

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps77a09c3e.jpg

On my Buick.

Also installed a full exhaust. Larger downpipe, wider tubing, high flow cat, smaller resonator (the stock one was the size of a table), Magnaflow muffler and SS tips.

No photos because no room to get a photo. Too many parts on the floor. However the car sounds like no Buick ever should :accepted:

After having it sit on the street for about 2 weeks and no one driving it, decided its time to pull the insurance :okay:

drove it hard, cleaned/washed the interior/exterior, filled it with some 94 octane, ordered a battery tender, and parked it inside for good

https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/...09908504_n.jpg

Installed a set of 17x7.5 BBS motorsport 2 piece wheels... came from the Mtechnic 1 E36 325is right before the north american E36 M3 release. nice and square set up.. although I could really use some wider tires....

Z3guy 01-15-2014 06:27 AM

^ get the M tech side moulding & the M tech rear valence, all subtle but nice cosmetic improvements.

Are you going to order from Khoalty? If so we should order together to save the crazy shipping involved. I want the bmw motorsport international moulding badges and a set of the gt splitters as well.

bcrdukes 01-15-2014 06:44 PM

Sold my car.

Goodbye, M3. Hope the new owner takes care of you. :okay:
