I only changed them cause i didn't like how the ballasts were mounted by the previous owner (zip ties) and one of the bulbs was burnt out. I had the oem bulbs lying around so i swapped em. Are your lenses clear? i would go with 3000k if your going for that "jdm yellow" look

tastic 01-29-2014 01:05 PM

Painted/clearcoated the cages on some Hella Supertones to match the car paint.

Ya, I have clear lenses in Hella Micro DE projectors - I think the yellow will look/work the best, so I ordered them. I've used zip ties in the past - I don't have a show car, just one I drive a lot (50k per year). I have also used industrial velcro to hold ballasts before - that's probably what I will use down here on these fogs as well.

Spent last couple days trying to figure out why my integra died all of a sudden on the sea sky on Sunday and wouldn't restart after. Went through the normal checks which were good so finally tore apart the dash to low and behold an aftermarket imobiliser hidden up in the dash. It was wired into my ignition switch, cut the stupid thing out then replaced the ignition switch and bam car runs once again :awwyeah:

underscore 01-29-2014 09:10 PM

^ those things are the stupidest invention ever.

+1 for the industrial strength velcro! i have fuses tucked away attatched with it in the engine bay. You can literally clamp the stuff together and not even have a chance of it coming apart lol. Good call of the projectors also.

SuavePapi 01-29-2014 09:46 PM

just put in a short ram intake. srs

underscore 01-29-2014 11:12 PM

tested for dying coolant seals, and it passed. Also confirmed that the car stinks so bad that le gf won't go within 5 feet of it when the door is open.

That's going to go over great if you ever try to go through a road check/get pulled over... :lawl:

Finally figured out which hose to tap into for my boost gauge... After someone explained it to me I felt so stupid because it was so simple lol :derp: But I'm happy it finally works :)

Playing around with the gauge, boost gauge is on the left of the 3, can't really see anything in the cell phone video but felt like posting it anyways lol

I've got air fresheners to the max but apparently now it just smells really strongly of "blueberry weed" as opposed to just weed. Fucking stoners. I'm gonna have to gut the interior but in the meantime I'm keeping the paers saying that I bought it only a couple days ago very close by.

Go to Cyclone Taylor's sports in coquitlam, buy a bottle or two of something called "Sports Clenz"... I used it on my hockey gear for years and the stuff is insane, a few mists and whatever smell is in the fabric is instantly gone. Not sure if it works on weed smells, but it's worth a shot. An air freshener will only cover the smell up.

underscore 01-30-2014 05:05 PM

If it's for sports gear it probably kills the bacteria so I'm not sure if it'd work on other stuff, but honestly I'd have to fill the car with it, it smells like a hotboxed grow op in there.

Car modding at 2AM is fun:
- CF side skirt lip/extensions
- Spacers in the rear
- Replaced replica spoiler with another replica with perfect fitment and OEM design

Then got a free car wash at noon, but then it was raining... :(

Bought a BBK... will be going from a measly 9.3" rotor to an 11.1" rotor up front not to mention the additional 3 pistons of braking power :joy:

slvr04rsx 01-31-2014 03:24 PM

installed front license plate relocator, detailed and touch-up painted the whole car...no more rock chips ftw :toot:

I would cut it, and re-terminate, but I can see the hesitance to do so on a brand spanking new ride.

Next best thing. I dremeled a part of the grill out and zap strapped it away.

Pulled the leaky rad out of the RX7, sweet jesus that thing was grungy on the front. On the plus side it was super easy to take out since it seems like 3/4 of the bolts are missing from this car :suspicious:

Also I noticed that the upper air pump bracket is broken, so it isn't functioning (looks like someone had tried to weld it previously too). Now I need to sort out if the NA's use it for anything or not.

Didn't someone post up how to just unplug it at the other end?

And couldn't you just make a cut and just slip it through the crack?

Yes, but it required draining the engine of coolant to remove the block heater etc etc, just way too much work.

That was the original plan, however even after i cut an entire honeycomb out of the grill it still wouldn't go all the way through. If i get annoyed with the way it is now, i'll remove more and put it through.

Hell yes! They make the best mat ever to lie on while working on cars, it's soft, comfy, and insulates you from the ground.

Only to fully remove the heater. If you just want to remove the cord you unplug it from the engine side.

Oh well. At least this way if for some reason i want to use the block heater i still can i suppose.

fliptuner 02-01-2014 12:12 AM

Yeah, I just meant like unplug it from the coil unit and reroute the wire.

Oh well, that way works too...lol

If I had known you were going to clip the grill, I would've suggested placing the plug behind/under the plate so as not to be visible.
