Test fit the stance pants... the fronts were not getting along with the brembo's so these wont be on until I find another braking solution.

I think he is saying spacers for the fronts to clear the brakes? How much more room do you think you'd need?

nabs 07-17-2012 10:37 PM

Filled it with Premium fuel..

the car has been abused unfortunately =( never been filled with premium fuel even though it needs it. Very long time between oil changes. made me =(

Tomorrow, OIL CHANGE

PS. Just bought the car yesterday.

did you take any mechanic to check out the car before you bought it just to make sure you didn't get a lemon :suspicious:

nabs 07-17-2012 11:25 PM

yeah that's what the delay was in me getting it, it was subject to an inspection.

AVS_Racing 07-17-2012 11:28 PM

..... wouldn't that lead to future engine problems....... I would stay away if I found out BEFORE buying a car requiring premium that only got regular + not really properly maintained.

Even with a 12mm spacer they didnt clear, the brakes are hitting where the wheel disk bolts up to the barrel.. damn you beautiful stepped lips!!!! And with that 12mm spacer, there is an insane amount of poke, way more than the rear.

It's a shame. With the current high fuel prices, some people are cheaping out on gas thinking the knock sensor will retard the timing enough to run the car safely on 87 octane.

I've got 17mm spacer up front on an 18x10 + 25 wheel just to clear my BBK ):

What sort of engine problems would I be looking for that could be caused by this?

Is that the Corksport intake for the CX-5? How is the car? I'm planning on going for a test drive soon after reading about all the positive reviews and riding along in my friend's CX-5.

If they are running to low of octane, there could be some detonation damage on the piston top and combustion chamber. Pull out the plugs and take a look at them.

I've also heard that detonation causes unnecessary stress/wear on crank shaft bearings too.

Depends on the car, if it's newer it should have knock sensors and the technology to retard timing to prevent pre-detonation from occurring.
