This is one of the best mods I've done so far especially since I touch the steering wheel all the time. The new wheel is as thick as the M3 wheel and the alcantara just feels so good in my hands.

I also ordered the alcantara steering wheel trim to go with the wheel but it arrives later this week.

3 quick pulls at Racing Greed today.

163whp/133wtq Mustang Dyno, Dynojet corrected #'s
Not worried about the numbers right now. All I wanted today was a baseline to go off of. All I have is passive mods +kpro which I haven't toyed with outside of Parameters.

fliptuner 06-22-2014 02:45 PM

That's actually pretty good for what you've done and on a Mustang

Removed the clutch helper spring. Car feels like a WRC Toyota Corolla now. :fuckyea:

SpuGen 06-22-2014 06:56 PM

Car decided it only wanted to do 10PSI all day.
Lost 10WHP compared to last year's 198/190 @11PSI.

Not sure if it was the heat today, but it pulled 16PSI no problem last night. BOO
I guess I broke it last night?

Time for megasquirt + GT30...Orrrrr Supra.

2nd car.

bcrdukes 06-22-2014 07:01 PM

What numbers did you get this year? I'm surprised it's still managing to pull some good numbers on the original motor!

If you have time, get a vacuum leak test or swap the boost controller. I suspect the one that's in there may not be very reliable. And yes, heat soaking will muddle its output. If you haven't installed the Berk intercooler, I suggest you do that before next year's dyno day. ;)

Spoiler!

Figured out how hard it is to install an s2000 cluster , maybe another day....:okay:

Last year I got 198 whp / 19x wtq w/out the Intercooler @ 11psi.
188 @ 10PSI w/ Intercooler this year.

I guess the factory sidemount flows just as well as the Berk, assuming 10 hp/PSI as a rough estimate. Also assuming that heatsoak was not a factor, as it was parked for 4 hours before it got onto the dyno. The Thermostat was unplugged to kick on the e-fans for the bay, and intercooler set to pull.

This morning at 5am, it got upto about 12PSI.. I think it's time for a cheapo MBC until I go Megasquirt/AEM.

The car itself still drives the same. The only minor annoyance would be the clutch pressure constantly going limp, then back to stiff, for no apparent reason. There's no air in the lines, as I've bled it twice this season with ATE Yellow. DOT4 fluid. Randomly goes limp in the morning, stiffens up mid-drive, then goes soft again before parking. Clutch slave and master have no leaks.

Quick question:
Is it still on the original clutch? No slips, I just don't want to prematurely upgrade and find tons of life left on it.

bcrdukes 06-23-2014 06:36 PM

Good thing you asked. I know for a fact the previous owner (before me) had done the timing belt/water pump but not the clutch. I'm positive the clutch is still original OE Toyota from the factory!

I completely took off the front end to get the forks serviced

Sounds more like the seals in either the clutch master or slave are wearing out.

bcrdukes 06-24-2014 12:58 PM

+1

The slave was never changed. Only the master cylinder.

Installed LTW rep corner splitters. I might just pony up the ridiculous amount for the real ltw blades and adjustable front splitter, but this will do for now.

^ God dammit I love those wheels.

underscore 06-25-2014 11:43 AM

I checked the wiring for the lights on the bike before I redo the connections for the LED brake/turn signals the PO added, turns out both turn signals are tied together so whichever way you signal you get both sides going :heckno:. Then I noticed the headlight was burnt out, I go to pull it and some idiot removed the brackets and GLUED A BULB IN :rukidding:. They also chopped off the plug and put on three individual crimp connectors so it's impossible to plug it in properly.

how much and where did you get the BMW performance steering wheel?

Energy 06-26-2014 07:45 AM

I got it gently used online for $400. The alcantara trim was extra.
