Got my alternator rebuilt by some local guys who did a great job, tossed that in the GTFour and pulled the battery from the Jeep, DMM says it's sitting at 0.2V out of the blue? Anybody know what would make a battery go from working great to stone dead out of the blue?

My old windshield had very nasty cracks in it from the previous owner - how I didn't bother replacing it after 2 months is beyond me (actually my car is so rare most shops don't carry the windshields )

I applied some rainx earlier today to this newly installed windshield while it wasn't raining

I also bought some body filler and supplies the other day, will be working on fixing dents soon

Replaced the stock E34 front upper subframe mount with the E31 X-brace to strengthen the front end on the M5.

Stock:

Modified E31 X-brace mount:

Comparing the new front E31 X-brace (top) with the stock E34 front subframe mount (bottom):

test fitted:

Mounted:

Really stiffened the front end of the M5. Steering has improved as it removed some of the wandering I had with the steering (but not entirely as I still need to make some adjustments to the steering play).
Overall, very happy with the setup!

That grille is a huge improvement, the stock one is pretty gross by comparison.

We'll it's more of what I did for my vehicle today.

Bought a mac clock a few weeks ago off the truck. Hated the gray caliper.

Took it apart and painted it black. Got wilwood stickers and voila! I know i f@#ked up the stickers a little but whatever. Lol

And my inspiration. Hope to get her insured after my trip.

My car intermittently had some knocking/exhaust popping sounds at idle for the past week and I couldn't figure out what the problem was.

I had a can of seafoam with about 20% left in it, had the car suck it through the PCV, and the knocking/popping disappeared

Was driving after work, picked up le gf, then got less than a block away and the car went into limp mode. Or worse than that because it felt as though the car was just rolling on idle. Engine would start and then just start to sputter like crazy. Check engine light on, VSA light on and some other lights in the cluster as well.

Car started to sputter insanely. I thought the car had had it, After 220k kms it was done. Pulled over to the side of the road. Called up my brother, gf getting worried and pissed at the same time, lol. Luckily he lived close by and has a reader with him, plugged it in, found out it was the throttle body.

Luckily I had just gotten off of work and had all my tools in the car, took apart the air intake in the car. The intake was missing a piece, it had fallen into the engine bay luckily and we found it. But that wasn't the problem. Looked into the throttle body and there was a crumpled into a ball piece of paper wedged in the throttle body, must have gotten in through the opening after said piece fell off. Got it just in time, it didn't get sucked in or else we would have had a deeper issue to deal with.

Breathed a sigh of relief, pulled the crumpled piece of paper out, put the system back together, car started up no problems! no unwanted warning lights! I was literally shaking on the inside at the thought of my car breaking down, I love it so much and it would have been sad to see it go that way.

The TSX breathes another day, here's to another 100k kms on ole Janet.

Slow day at work so while waiting for a job, I wet sanded and polished my replacement pair of headlights I had in the trunk for whenever I had time for it.
Started with 800grit and jumped to 1500 after. Then polished in 2 stages.

Looks like new!

Pulled all 4 wheels off the GTFour and raised it up 7/8" in the rear and 1/2" in the front, hopefully that's enough to keep the front from rubbing over bumps.

I got tired of the empty buttons in front of my shifter so I decided to make them all functional. First up, I made a garage door button. 1 opens one side, 2 opens the other.

Button is slightly closer to one side than the other...that's going to bother me so eventually I'll fix it but I'll put in the rest first. The others will be USB charger (always on even when car is off), dashcam power select (runs only when the car is on or run off battery power when the car is off) and...one more I haven't decided. Ejector seat?
