What car?
Does it crank, but not turn over?
Does it turn over and die?
Does it not crank at all?

Also I hope you didn't really kick your car lol

1992 honda civic sedan 1.5l
It cranks and turns over, doesn't ignite. It turns over and dies sometimes or runs for awhile and then dies. Sometimes it takes a long time for it to finally ignite and then it will still die minutes after it's started. It dies while idling and while driving. It dies when it's warm out and when it's cold out. It went 2 days without a problem then the engine wouldn't start for a good 20 minutes. Did an obd test and it came up as a ignition output signal. Distributor is fairly new and I just replaced the coil. After reading up on the code it might be a wiring issue somewhere between the dizzy and the engine.

And I did kick it. This car has caused me more headaches then I could count. I just want it to run so I can sell the pos. I've decided to part it out then sell the rest for scrap. Unfortunately civics are all too common in the scrap yard so the parts won't make me any money to recoup the amount I've put into it over the years. Shoulda went with that subaru..

Why would you replace the coil on a new distributor?
Have you checked the fuel pressure?

NSXRboy 07-26-2014 09:44 PM

have you tried changing the main relay?

dared3vil0 07-26-2014 10:01 PM

Did you try adding more blinker fluid? :troll::troll:

inv4zn 07-26-2014 11:21 PM

That sounds like a shitty deal - good luck.

If the distributor is fairly new, I'd also look into fuel pressure, as well as the main relay.

Also, perhaps not applicable, but my old Accord used to sputter out after ignition, and that was due to a horrendously dirty IACV.

ICM?

Do you have a vacuum leak? My Jetta had a pretty bad leak, and it would barely run, sometimes died while idling.

Check up on the cleanliness of your intake system, if it's full of shit, your car will be shit.

Fuel filter might be clogged, I'd look into that too, not enough pressure + EFI = no start.

Due to the fact that you admitted to it actually running for a limited amount of time, I'd place my bet on a fuel issue.

Bought the aluminum performance dead pedal to complete my set. Also got brighter LED license plate lights but no pics of that.

Put my E46 M3 up for sale :s not overly interested in selling it but have to face the reality of limited parking sooner or later!

LOL of all the reasons, "limited parking" isn't the one I expected for selling a M3.

Well it's also making room for something else ;)

When we move back to Van next year I will be stuck to a two-vehicle max as I will be a condo dweller in yuppie town.

jpark 07-28-2014 07:36 PM

will you interested in parting out those brembos? ill throw in a set of oem brake setup from my m3 so you can just slap these on.

Next owner is gonna be a lucky guy..or girl

Stripped more brake line fittings. I hate 40 year old brake lines!

Tomorrow is a mixture of fire, ATF and acetone. Also need to purchase the largest vice grips known to man.
