Finally installed my Toxicfab v3 ceramic coated manifold, cam sensor shield and ETS stainless steel upper radiator hose. Manifold has been sitting in the storage room for almost a year. She looks like she means business now:

thanks for the heads up i'll look for some covers.

I've known a few people that have been told to cover them up. Anything above your grill/hood needs a cover.

Anything considered an "off road light" need to be covered as well IIRC, since you're only allowed to have a certain number of "exposed" forward facing lights.

hmm you may be right, i was only told above the grill when i asked. my jeep buddies run them off there bumpers and have never been told to cover them. even one of the guys who was told to cover his roof mounted lights didn't need to cover his kc's on the bumper.

im sure its one of those thing that depends on how the cops day is going.

underscore 08-26-2014 09:51 PM

Well there's a few laws at play, you've got the max/min height of lights law and then you have the total number of lights law. If you've only got a couple lights and they're near the height of your headlights you're probably fine, if you have a lot of lights or they're high/low you might need to cover them.

Finished installing angel eyes about an hour ago. Stupid! Spent like an hour or so trying to figure out why one side would light up but not the other. Wasn't the CCFL tubes, wasn't the ignitors, turned out to be a loose wire on the relay! :failed: Oh well, those are done. Next tasks is to deactivate drls and then swap out the corner bulbs to orange with smoked lenses.

DontFrontOnMe 08-28-2014 12:09 AM

Well it wasnt today, but i traded it in on a new one, and then proceeded to install a tuner and break it, then had to send off my pcm and the tuner back to diablosport. Win!

Nice! I didn't know you had polished the timing cover and stuff as well.

Looks awesome.

Samsung LEDs for your feets

Also, that stack of papers in that pouch is for almost all the work I've done to this car in 18 months :heckno:

Before and after. It's no show winning polish job so I doubt I'll protect it just yet.

I'm tempted to do this with dimmed red LEDs.

The_AK 08-29-2014 02:17 AM

Good progress today. Cut, bent and flared my rear lines today and installed the stainless hoses. Installed one side of some sway bar end links I pieced together. Started on the front lines but realized I was making bubble flares instead of double flares so I'm going to have to redo that process.

Just use one of those LED kits with a controller. That way you can dim them as you like, change the colours, make them strobe, and best of all, they can be turned off when you don't want them.

Spent 3 hours total washing polishing and restoring the plastic panels with Meguiar's Back to Black (stuff is magic in a bottle).

Then later in the evening, popped the hood open and attempted to re-aim the headlights, the driver's side HID ballast burnt out as soon as I flicked on the lights and started smoking like mad. Pulled out both HID bulbs and electrical taped up all the unplugged connectors, stuck my old halogens back in as a temporary measure until the new ballast arrives.

:fuuuuu:

I hate when shit breaks.

DontFrontOnMe 08-29-2014 11:34 PM

Re-installed the PCM in my 2014 Ram that has 2600kms on it, so I could drive the thing again. Thanks Diablosport, it was nice having a 50k paperweight in my driveway for 7 days.
