Thanks. I'm going to sandblast it for a consistent texture and try the VHT header clear. I've read good reviews when it's prepped and cured properly.

Congrats on the pass. What's the hold up with registering it?

hud 91gt 09-10-2014 07:11 PM

Drama from day one. The person I bought the vehicle from in Washington never registered it(Just stored it and doubled his money over 5 years ha), so the title I have is from the previous owner to him(There is more to the story, but lets keep it simple). Anyhow every time I go in, it's a different answer, beginning with the day I was about to purchase the vehicle when I called in and asked "Yes, it will be fine". I'd like to kill that individual lol. Ok, kick them in the go-nads. Today was the third time i've been in, trying to plan ahead and finally a third answer. I'm about to lose it.

Google ICBC provincial inspection. You'll find a list of things that the inspection covers. There is a bunch of easy things like licence plate lights, brake lights etc that you can check yourself. If you have the knowledge, get underneath and take a look around. Shouldn't have any leaks and everything should be "safe". That's about all I can say.

Well I didn't do this today, but I did this just last month...ish. What sucks is there is no cracks on the side of the roof..just the front and back. So I don't expect the wrap to stick down completely on my room. I know it'll roll up eventually.
Had my roof wrapped because my little is250 spoiler is black as well. (It looked really funky when it was white, so I had to change the color). Now I love the color contrast.

Got it done at a low cost by a dear friend =) Just an experiment.

You have a massive blower to back that up? Like it much more without the stripes.

Yodamaster 09-12-2014 03:58 PM

Debadged....

Tools: dental floss, hair dryer, goo gone/ bugntar remover / microfiber towel

Bug n tar remover worked great to remove the outline which was years of dirt and grime.

That front license plate is a massive eye-sore.

Whip looks much better though.

I had to replace a couple of exhaust manifold downpipe studs but one was seized. Penetrating oil and heat (o/a) still resulted in a busted and recessed fastener. 2 hours, more heat, drilling and hammering later, I was left with this:

I basically folded the threads into the centre. Then I chased the hole with a bottoming tap and I'm back in business. Just waiting on new studs.

In the meantime, I used some high temp VHT to paint the exhaust and now I'm just waiting til everyone's asleep, so I can throw it in the oven.

Also mocked up the intake and carbs. PO did a ghetto job of rigging up the linkage, so I'm waiting on parts for that too.

Track/street mode:

Anyone know where to get a solid 8mm shaft, 200mm long, M8x1.25 threaded rod and split shaft locking collars 8mm ID (w/ set screw will work too).
