Spoiler!

That's really cool, I knew about these types of services but had forgotten about them. Now that I have a new vehicle with an engine that isn't easily replaceable i'll be doing this. Just ordered a test kit!

Replaced the front pads and rotors on the Cherokee since there was some vibration under medium braking, pads still had 1/3 left but they were starting to crack since the backing plates were flimsy as hell. Started with a mallet, then a 2lb dead blow, and then finally a 10lb sledge + torch to get the damn rotors off.

Now as a bit of a back story, my family has owned this Cherokee since the early 2000's (I bought it off my parents a few years back) and my parents always got it serviced at the dealer (for some stupid reason). I've driven it since I got my license and the brakes always left a bit to be desired but I just assumed that Cherokees had meh brakes. Yesterday I learned that this is not the case as with the new stuff I installed it can stop hard, way better than it ever stopped before, and the reason the braking was meh is because Chrysler has been putting these shit brake parts on our vehicles and who knows how many other peoples vehicles. So fuck you and your garbage parts Chrysler, that dealership can eat a dick.

Replaced LCD touch screen on the Lexus ISF OEM navi. I can finally adjust heat/AC controls again.

Finally got her back from the shop. Put proper insurance on her, no more temp permits. CEL and various leaks was fix at the shop along with a new clutch.

Did some tune up after I pick her up. Change the oil, spark plugs. Identify something's that needs to be taken care of

Fix the ac/blower. As of now the fogging up during rain is making the drive quite dangerous
Need new corner markers
Need a new steering wheel that doesn't feel like it's got human fluid all over it
Shifter extender possibly a short shifter as well
New set of door locks
Quieter exhaust

Anyone have the above parts feel free to pm me!!

For the time being crack the window when it fogs up, that helps a lot.

I did that yestedday. It only helps a little unless I crank open the whole windows which is not an option in heavy rain like yestedday :(

ugh. shouldve said you are looking for a new steering wheel. I tossed my stock CRX one away :okay:

I wonder if MDA fab has any spares for your EF. should give them a shout.

Keep Glass from Fogging Up with a Bit of Shaving Cream

i-vtecyo 11-04-2014 06:25 PM

Ugh. Found out that my timing is off by a tooth yesterday.. Was really wishing to hold off timing chains until summer.. Well, today i did the water pump and polished my tensioner pulley to match my future polished intake manifold.

P.S
My alternator is going to be so awkward once my intake manifold goes in and I should really do a build thread. xD

Another long day after work for me getting stuff on the integra done:

-Swapped oem shocks out for some koni yellows I picked up over the weekend
-Replaced all the top hats bushings with polyurethane ones
-Managed to swap the oem type r rear sway bar in
-Swapped rear shock mount bushings out for some left over poly ones as I found when swapping the rears I somehow tore the bushings in my bwr lower arms

Just a couple more things to buy and install before I'm happy with it....... then I can start buying for my supra again :okay:

i-vtecyo 11-05-2014 06:50 PM

Yep. I was just under the dash of my Jeep, vacuuming, when I noticed a wire under the clutch pedal. I go to move it out of the way so as not to wear out from contact, brush my hand against the clutch master rod and the fucker FALLS RIGHT OFF THE PEDAL!?!?!? WTF!?!?

Apparently, in their wisdom, they decided it was a good idea to retain the clutch master to the pedal with a plastic clip that's less sturdy than the ones holding my door panel in place.

I went into my parts bin and replaced it with a washer and E-clip, using the original plastic clip as a bushing (after some trimming).

Fucking stupid. Hell, it would've been cheaper for them to just drill a hole in the pivot and use a washer and retaining clip/cotter pin.

I've gotta say, as much as I love my Cherokee they made some really, really stupid decisions in the design department, that clip has to be near the top of the list (at least it's easy to fix though).

I take it you have working blower/heater you still have fogging problem??!!!

On another note try to have a phone conversation today while in car and fogs up again.... So can't talk can't have passenger right now. Forever alone car :alone:

tofu1413 11-06-2014 05:41 PM

yeah. it fogs up.

I cleaned the windows and it was a bit better.

I plan on just rain X- ing the insides :lawl:

kakucaekz 11-06-2014 10:47 PM

My DA also fogs up, unless I'm alone and not singing along to Katy Perry. It's pretty bad; I pretty much always have the rear defroster on. Tempted to try and wire it so it turns on when the car is on, haha. Wonder if a sunroof visor would help get rid of the fogging while driving; the doors are frameless and can't stick good visors on.

I'll clean the windows like you did tofu, see if that makes a difference.
