The first wheel is just a random photo I found to use as an example of how curbed to shit they were. I couldn't find any DSII that looked as shitty as mine did to start. |
I made a hole.... Spoiler! |

Despite the cold, at least it's been dry and I was able to put a dent in my project. Finished scrubbing down me hole: Spoiler! Pulled the suspension, brakes and crossmember and sold them with the motor/tranny (yay, precious space back!): Spoiler! Removed the suspension, brakes, steering arm, crossmember, pedal box and firewall reinforcement plate off the donor car: Spoiler! Blasted a bunch of parts in prep for fab, paint and PC: Spoiler! I'm juggling between prep, dismantling and reassembly and the garage is packed, trying to keep everything organized. Unfortunately, I might have to push the car out for a bit so I can paint parts in a warm garage so they can adhere and cure properly. |
^^great attention to detail  |
1 Attachment(s) Re-aligned exhaust and put grounding kit in. |
Got some winter tires for the wife's car, now wondering if I should stay on summers on my car :accepted: |
im running summers with -4.5 camber and stretch still drives like normal that is until the snow hits :okay: |
Replaced the power steering pump pulley. Fucking pain in the ass with it still in the engine bay. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...b2bbd140c480ef https://scontent-a-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/...b3&oe=550CB26C https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...5129b6fe746a1a https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/...76&oe=550AFCA4 Dont' mind the shitty pictures. Think the camera on my phone has finally bit the bucket. :okay: |
There was finally a little sunshine today so I washed and clayed both cars. http://i496.photobucket.com/albums/r...o/IMG_0043.jpg |

Waiting for paint to cure and parts to show up so I decided to get rid of the old sound deadening. At first glance it was in great shape but some areas were no longer stuck to the floor and I wanted to see what was hiding beneath. Spoiler! |
Sold it. Soon to be all Japanese.. Sigh |
For a second there, I thought you sold the 240, then I remembered you had the 325 up for sale. What are you going to daily? Got the car up on wheel dollies so I could get the driver's door open and get the auto pedal-box, master cylinder and brake lines out. Spoiler! Instead if drilling the brake/clutch reinforcement plate out, I took a burr and ground the spot welds out so there's something to weld the new plate to. I still have to drill holes for the new brake/clutch master cylinders - there's only 1 hole that's the same between this and the donor car. Spoiler! Finished painting the stuff I blasted last week. Once the brake/clutch master, lines and pedals are in place, I can get it back on 4 wheels. Spoiler! |
Nice work! Should look great when it's all done. Yup, 240 is safe, BMW is gone. Boring Acura to come. That swap looks a little more intense then mine was. Pre Drilled holes FTW! Atlas you have the engine out to run the lines etc, thats always a PITA. Are you powder coating those parts? Looks awesome. |
Did part 2 of the detail on the TT today, which was some light correction with optimum polish II, some white diamond show glaze, and then some opti-seal. Also aquapel-treated all the glass/side mirrors. The opti-seal needs a day to cure and then I'll finish with some carnauba overtop tomorrow. http://i496.photobucket.com/albums/r...o/DSC_9980.jpg |
i love me my optimum products |
