Thanks to Airtools pulling the motor is not as time consuming and tiring anymore! :fullofwin:

I pulled a motor yesterday too but the cherry picker was inaccessible and there wasn't enough room in front of the car.

No problem.

I remember this car being for sale a while back... Did it just not sell and you're parting it out? Or the as the new owner you're parting everything out?

Seemed like a really nice and complete car, odd it's gettin the tear down...

Yup I am the new owner and I did intend to bring the car back to life again

I <3 B-Series and how easily they are removed from the bay, so many ways to skin that cat! Pictures like that make me feel all warm and fuzzy

PS: People who pull them out from above…
Spoiler!

fliptuner 01-16-2015 08:34 AM

Definitely more than one way to do it. You use what you have and make it work.

Looking at your sig, were the sunvisors for an EK?

I'm in need of a new one as well, how much they end up running you? See any others there by chance?

Two car shaped snow piles. Wonder what's under them?

Ah hah! I knew there was a car somewhere in there!

Had to dig my way into the Saab to try and find some tools I forgot to pull out of the trunk before parking it for winter. Thankfully it has fold down seats, so I only had to dig my way to the door. Do have to say, however, that crawling through the interior in order to pull down the seats (while using the ski access hatch in the rear seats) is a fucking pain in the ass.

underscore 01-17-2015 07:01 PM

^ try doing it in reverse when your door is frozen shut.

tastic 01-18-2015 03:58 PM

Gave cars a rinse and gave all the wheels and brakes a good and thorough cleaning, including barrels. Gave all the wheel wells a good rinse and de-salting too.

Spoiler!

what brand are those cross drilled rotors?

tastic 01-18-2015 04:50 PM

What did you do to your vehicle today?

They are centric premiums that are slotted, dimpled and black zinc coated by 3rd party (brake performance.com)...the have cross drilled ones too.

Edit...slight better pic of the rotors

Finally got off my ass and replaced the stock boost gauge.

Factory cluster.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...pscentjgjm.jpg

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...pstuguqppf.jpg

Digital display gauge in.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...psge84bg4p.jpg

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...psw2keaykk.jpg

Reassembled the cluster.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...psrhajkic3.jpg

I then discovered a small crack in mine, probably from taking it off. Plus, the entire thing is scratched up anyway, so I'm gonna see if I can order a new one tomorrow. Hopefully there's some in stock somewhere D:

Still gotta wire the gauge up, but I need to be in the car to do that, so that'll hopefully be next weekend.

Seansm10 01-18-2015 07:21 PM

Cut the engine crossmember flipped it 180 and welded shut!! Viva la ka powered datsuns!!!

CCA-Dave 01-18-2015 10:48 PM

Made a wiring harness from scratch for the '59, matching the factory diagram for colours. Many volkswagen and Audi harnesses were harmed in the course of the last two days. Should have just bought a new harness for the car, but that's another story.
