Took intake apart, pulled off the external wastegate, put new gaskets in, unseized it and now while I'm putting everything back on... I think I want to get a T88-38GK....

Finished the harness, and sorted out the issues. Was going around in circles for a bit until figured out that the flasher relay was bad. popped one from the spares in, and suddenly everything worked the way it was supposed to.

Moved onto colour correcting all the parts the PO had painted black. Still have the seat frames to go, but I'll wait until I have my new upholstery.

What did you do to your vehicle today?

That is the ground wire shadow showing...if you can rotate the bulb 180degrees that will direct them off the opposing reflector and you won't see it anymore. In some setups you can rotate. Others that can't need a variant of the bulb with the ground wire in the opposite configuration. Or some funky retrofit rotation. In my hid retrofit I have to ensure the bulb is facing the right way or I get the same shadow. Luckily I can just flip it. Hope you can as easily.

Man, I wish there were open spots for that auto x. Taking out the 240 would be a riot because I have no idea how it handles yet. Driving in town sucks haha.

^ The BMWCCBC ones are by far the best- No working the course, you just run through a max of 30 cars the whole day. Typically get 40-50 runs in. In the summer when it gets REALLY hot it usually empties to ~5 or so cars by 1 ish, meaning you can almost run non stop. At that point pretty much as many runs as you want...

The bumper grills came color matched to the car, Decided to revert to the black.

Pretty happy with the turn out!

While the bumper dried got the wheels polished and went into painting mode with the tires.

Here's how I did it:

Spoiler!
The motor is actually on the rear
and I was thinking of using car ramps

Put the front wheels on car ramps and then jack the rear to clear
BUT when you mention the car hoist that was PERFECT!
so thank you my good sir now im more positive its doable

'58 work continues...

- Swapped out passenger door latch and receiver. PO used wrong side screws in the handle, causing it to only open the latch half way...he then broke the receiver trying to reef the door open. '58 only parts aren't available, so put in '62 pieces which visually look the same, but don't work together. Correct sized bolts in the handle and the door opens smoother then the driver's side.

- Cleaned, treated and painted the whole underside of the car. 1st coat done, will do the second tonight.

- Car was apparently sandblasted prior to painting. One area that is never painted well is behind the vents under the rear window. It's basically impossible to do without causing drips outside the car. (VW originally dipped the bodies in huge vats of paint to paint them, so it's only an issue on restorations.) Spent the better part of two hours with multiple small paint brushes doing the inside of the vent area.

- Reassembled the interior with all the correctly-painted bits.

...at this rate, car might be ready at the end of the month :P

LOL...I knew it was coming. This was HER doing though.

Couple of weeks ago she commented that she wouldn't mind if the car was a little louder. I sh*t you not LOL! My theory is that she's gotten used to the intake and exhaust in the mazda...not that the 3 is very loud, but it does grumble and get a little uncivilized when you get on it. Intake on the TT is actually quieter than I thought...I'm guessing because it is a closed box and one I have in the mazda is open on the fender side.

(Did changing the subject work?)
