APRIL FOOLS :toot: ... maybe? |
suspension was completely swapped over, interior bits are rolling in and getting cleaned at the same time. motor was flushed twice and seafoamed LOL. now running on some redline fluidsssss. fixed the climate controls but the sound system is glitchy. not bad for a $400 car with 450,000 kms :lawl: will share pics once car is actually clean |

...decided the '58 really does need the proper sized tires sooner rather than later. https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hp...23798511_n.jpg Took it for a test ride at lunch with a buddy, pretty hilarious bailing out of the car on the side of the 99 to yells of "Smoke! Fire!!". Turns out it's just the front tires rubbing... -Dave |

So I took a bit of a hiatus on the Corolla project but just started getting back into it. Ordered up a new clutch kit, shocks all around, bushings, seals, rear brakes, yada yada yada. While I was waiting, decided the easiest thing to swap over was the rear diff. (larger, better gears, bigger brakes, better bolt pattern 4x110 to 4x114.3). Out with the old: Spoiler! Prepping new axle: New brakes, cylinders, hard lines, seals: Spoiler! Perfect time to drop it and since no blocks are available with the correct centre pin size, made my own: Spoiler! And all back together w/ new u-bolts: Spoiler! In the meantime, the clutch came in so I was able to send the flywheel out to get machined, lightened and balanced (assembled). Spoiler! Now I'm just waiting for either the release bearing to come in, so I can get the motor/trans together OR when the front shock inserts get here, shorten the strut tubes to fit. |

bought an 06 tsx a few days ago, changed all the fluids on the car to start fresh. mtf, oil, power steering, brake fluid, clutch fluid, and coolant. also machined the front rotors due to warpage. discovered the pads were running a little low all around -- will replace in a few months. car also needs a battery and a set of tires. other than that.. im super stoked. even put in piaa yellow fogs and drls :lol feels good man |
Purchased a EM1 front sway bar with LCAs awhile ago. Finally took the opportunity to install it today on a day off :D Thanks to my buddy for the help I should have taken a comparison photo. The EM1 LCAs are much beefier than the stock hatch ones I had on there. http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...405_121158.jpg |
