Thanks

I was lucky enough to have a friend let me use her shop to cut and weld.
Thanks BEB

I spent a lot of time prepping and measuring to make sure everything went smoothly. The hardest part was jigging up to make sure the tube was welded straight. Since the sleeve is a pretty tight fit, if the tube isn't dead straight, it won't slide on.

Switched out the almost nonexistent clutch stop. It used to be right against the carpet with only the rubber sticking out. Just took it out for a quick spin and there's a huge difference in every shift and only cost me a couple bucks.
The pedal sometimes slides to the left if I don't step on it from the left though so i'll need to cap another bumper on top. There's still enough distance from engagement point.

Made it to the eighties!!!

Installed the new electronic distributor coupled with a MSD coil.
Cleaned up the mess of wiring and relocated the electric fan relay. Fixed an exhaust leak.

Suprised the difference the distributor made, could be the fact I bumped up the timing a bit too ;)

Power lift gate won't open.

Mercedes Benz diagnoses that the motor is defective and wanted to $1500 to replace the motor on the power tailgate.

My diagnoses is wires are corroded on connectors to pump, I fixed it with $2...........:fuckyea:

I'll send you a PM, don't want to get into trouble soliciting on here.

That Dip job looks good. I thought about dipping my car, but I don't think it will be a lot of fun to clean it afterwards.

I'm half way through polishing and waxing my Dub, need to take a break from this sun.

^^from what I can tell there is no water seepage. The motor itself is encased in a housing including the control box.

Its located in the interior right under the spare wheel/tools.
