Okay. So they aren't on the car yet, that's my plans this coming weekend.

BUT:

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...psualh0dah.jpg

It's all ready to install.

The paddles are from a G37s, custom mounted onto a factory FX clockspring, and then the factory steering wheel trim was chopped up to accomodate:

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...pswfz6sf41.jpg

^That telephone jack looking thing was the solution to accommodate for wiring the kit in. This is the harness:

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...psslg1eqva.jpg

Couple relay's, and wires to tap permanent power, as well as into the tiptronic switches, and Voila should have working paddle shifters. :D

trollguy 04-28-2015 02:40 PM

wait what. what does the telephone jack do? you know,.. you could hook up a vtech phone. just saying

bcrdukes 04-28-2015 02:42 PM

56k modem? What kind of hipster bullshit is this for? :suspicious:

It's rather genius, the telephone jack allows me to send morse code from the paddles to the gearbox in order to tell it what gear I want to be in...:troll:

Cars a little dirty but added the punisher emblem today

Went to NAPA and bought some stuff to do some general maintenance on my car. Totalled about $110 so I asked about a discount I could get from school. He said alright, punched it in, and it totalled around $85 or so. He said "hmm", then punched some other code in and bam, price drops down to $66. Guy says "that's better", so I happily give him my money and leave satisfied. Safe to say I was NOT expecting that. :fuckyea:

Planning to do the same thing on my AP1.
Just gotta head down to pick up my parts.

Took apart entire exhaust and tried to fix exhaust leak from where new downpipe connects to the catback section. Moved around all the pieces and tried everything I could to try and wiggle the two sections to line up properly but no dice so the leak remains. Going to try and see if I can figure out something tomorrow and if not then take it somewhere. Huge pita :rukidding:

That rebadging template is pretty cool. Nice to know they exist.

westopher 04-29-2015 04:58 PM

Removed my seats and cleaned the interior. Also removed the seat cover and cut up some foam to fill the damaged seat bottom so the cover wouldn't rub the frame. Its very common on e36s to have the frame+jeans+fat asses in the outer bolster over time. It was fucking terrifying taking apart these seats haha.

It's so nice to clean your interior when the seats are out.
It just feels.....thorough.

westopher 04-29-2015 08:37 PM

Agreed. As much as its kind of a bitch to lug the seats out, I'd say its should be a twice a year occurrence, especially with my big lug Monty that spends some time in the back seat. Its nice to see everything is in order that you can't see as well.

Im really stoked to do this one because mods like this the difference between before and after is significant

That wheel gap is just :heckno:

wonton1017 05-01-2015 11:59 PM

Riced it with homemade rear diffuser/splitters, pretty close to the varis e9x full diffuser except this is just the outer piece to fill in the rear-side profile:

Took a billion tries to get the shape and size right.

Chloroplast, then chloroplast + CF vinyl for testing
Almost-final product with real plastic (except its cut off in the pic)

Final product (if I'm not lazy) will have evenly spaced bolts and will be in carbon fiber:
