the weird thing about my car is that there is led accent lighting in the footwells that are always on, but nothing in the glove box. i'm not going for fancy, just want to stop the blind fumbling i have to go through in the dark, so i was thinking about just tapping into whatever is powering the accent lighting without frying it. |

They are always on? That is a bit of a stupid design. Mine turn on when you open the door then turn off when you start the car. Was there a factory option for a glove box light? It's weird yours does not have one? If it was an option the wiring might already be there. You shouldn't have any problem splicing in a led. |
it's a ford. apparently mood lighting is more important than a light that is actually useful and has a purpose... enough said. was never an option. |
replaced my struts. Thanks MG1 for the spring compressor. I'm still alive http://i.imgur.com/YaebLKO.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FMAPExC.jpg |
What's the wood clamp for? lol |
Got my brakes mounted finally. After a few set backs the past weeks, and also a minor set back during the installation. Comparison of factory to new rotors: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...pskjsmvdgp.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...pswobspfb4.jpg End Result Rear: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...pspijgcx9y.jpg End Result Front: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...psdhnvi8tn.jpg I bedded them on a rural road last night, Drove the FX to work this morning just to see how they feel, still a little spongy even after bleeding the system 3 times. I'm gonna have to bleed them again anyways, cause we couldn't get the flare nut out of the front, needs a torch, or some persuasion. So I have to replace my front brake lines in the front with the stainless lines I already have at some point. But for now these brakes are already miles ahead of the hilariously undersized factory garbage. |

In one of the car club FB groups awhile back, some kid was trying to lower his car, and he was asking to borrow all sorts of ridiculous tools, like a hammer and chisel. All I could think to myself was; if you're using a hammer and a chisel to lower your car in anyway, I want nothing to do with it... |

Started to wash my car yesterday, I got the roof done then had to stop when I saw a stream of water pissing down from my *closed* sunroof onto my passenger seat. Did some checking and saw the drain on the passenger side wasn't doing its job, so I had to wait for my girlfriend to get home so I could swing by and use her dad's air compressor to blow all the crap out. In the meantime I decided to dry the seat and then check out how well the Autoglym wheel cleaner I bought worked, turns out it works great. Wish I had pictures to show before/after, it was quite a difference. Today I changed the bulbs lighting my gauge cluster and my HVAC switches. It'll be nice to know how fast I'm going at night again. Again, no pics, I should really get in the habit of documenting stuff. |

2 Attachment(s) Put a parts hauling hitch on the Acura Attachment 25011 Also pretty much buttoned up the L28 (cleaned, painted some pieces, installed oil pump/oil pump drive, adjusted valves, straightened oil pan), and should be making a trip to the island to have her swapped over early July. I'm hoping i've accounted for everything. Attachment 25012 |
1 Attachment(s) Aimed my retrofitted projectors. Someone had asked for the cutoff One of the projectors sits almost an inch lower so its aimed accordingly, green part is just tape. |
Had to fix my steering wheel, it was making a pretty distinct scraping sound when I turned it at to any angle. Figured out it was the horn contact scraping on the metal ring on the wheel, so I just put a little grease on it and that seemed to do the trick. I also took the opportunity to clear out the 20 years of nastiness that had built up around that area, I'm glad I wore gloves. |
