Another option are MemoryFab rails. Just a thought if you are searching Honda-Tech, NWP4Life, etc. I'm 6' and my helmet clears the headliner without issue.

tofu1413 07-06-2015 07:35 PM

dis gon' be good @jasonturbo

Pretty happy with my buddy club rails. damned low.

multicartual 07-06-2015 07:46 PM

Hey Jasonturbo... how do you sit when you drive? Seat far back yet straight up? Middle position, seat reclined a little? Seat forward, reclined like a 1970 New York street pimp?

jasonturbo 07-06-2015 08:24 PM

Memfab stopped making the rails a couple years ago, but yeah a used set of those would also work just great.

Buddly club only makes side mount rails IIRC.

How do I sit when I drive? Like a white dude, far back since I'm pretty long and lanky but pretty straight up, not much G-lean.

On the subject of sitting... (unrelated to thread lol)

Spoiler!

Edit: Oh yeah, was going to leave my car without A/C, after driving around today in +28C weather I'm really going to have to rethink that.. day trips to the ridge in +25C weather will be much less enjoyable if I'm sweating to death.

Polished up my water fill neck. The Mother's stuff works wonders.

Took the trailer, hitch and engine out for their maiden voyage. Wish me luck boys. First engine swap for me this weekend.

The colour matching between the car and trailer is awesome!

hud 91gt 07-09-2015 09:23 AM

Canadian tire didn't have an exact match, but I still think it looks great! Thanks

Committed to a change in the stable...preordered a 2016 Golf R and will be selling the Mazda3.

fliptuner 07-10-2015 08:26 PM

Front tires on the Civic (EG) had bad camber wear and rotors were warped. Upgraded to DC knuckles and brakes, replaced inner/outer tierod ends, balljoints and lower control arm bushings. What a difference, even with just a rudimentary alignment, it handles and steers awesome now. Can't wait to get a proper alignment and replace the trailing arm bushings.

Fixed the flappy door handles on the Prelude finally, getting the door apart is super simple despite Honda using 3 different styles of locking electrical connectors but getting the unbolted handle to rotate around and provide access to the spring was a chore. Masking tape saved the paint and the car looks a million times better without hellaflush-looking door handles.

I've spent the last few days removing this god damn rust proofing coating from the engine bay of the DC2 :s #FML #guitarpicks #acetone

Before (Yellow wax shit on some parts, hard grey shit on other parts, both horrible to remove)

thumper 07-13-2015 07:21 PM

egh, they took your strut bar, and the headlight gaskets on the hood are missing :(

jasonturbo 07-13-2015 07:41 PM

I removed the bar to clean it, and yeah sadly the headlight strips were MIA. The front end swap is my least favourite part of this car right now, not the greatest work. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for a USDM front and may convert it back.

tofu1413 07-13-2015 08:48 PM

Oooo. I do fancy your headlights.... I have an overly yellow lens on one side

@ 1:10PM i was ripping the airbags out lol Installed spoon steering wheel, RS airbag delete, clock delete, and Bride RO low down rails (which btw are no nearly low enough, maybe 3/4 lower than stock, feel like how OEM should be, I'm now looking for an old set of spoon rails to drop my seat lower)

Tmw I'll be installing radio delete panel and the hidden bluetooth audio along with finishing the steering wheel install, need to run a wire to get horn to work.

Pics tmw.

what about vision sliders? that's what i had on my recaros in my itr. the spoon ones might be the same thing. it's just the sliders bolted directly to the underside and the outboard slider is the only one the locks with a single handle. it dosen't get any lower than that. i was pretty much sitting on the floor.

Lamin-X yellow'd the fogs on the weekend and installed the new grille a couple of weeks ago.

Top is the result, bottom is before:

Other than Bride, all other low down rails for bottom mount recaro in DC2 have been disco'd.

I'm on the lookout for a used set of Vison/Spoon or memoryfab.

thumper 07-14-2015 07:30 PM

jdmfemme does your front license plate fold down and hideaway?

No, it's just a bracket that tilts it as shown in the photo. That would be neat though!
