End game for this car is a mystery... for now it's simply get the body back together with pop up front end, get through safety, and turn down the boost to a more "sane" level.. and install the new wheels I have. Plan to drive the car a bit like that before really making any big decisions... If I decide that I really <3 the NSX and want a forever car, then I will have to compare keeping this car and fucking with it more.. or just selling and finding something minty, low K, and un modified. The only mods I really want for an NSX are KW V3, front lift kit, header, muffler, shift knob, wheels.. the insane turbo kit on this car really isn't anything I'm overly excited about, but it makes for an easy trade to someone who wants big power and has a low mile 3.2 in their car. |
Finally put on new rubber, contact DWS's since old ones were bald.. not a bad price either! |
Finally purchased some front control arm bushings for my e46. Pics of install coming once they come in. Its good to know the average car guy can actually DIY a lot of things on this car. |
installed OEM roof rails. holy crap what a pain in the ass. had to cut up the roof moulding into specific pieces with a dremel. used a rubber mallet on the end pieces so that they slide in and snap into place. ugh.. .next time I'm paying a dealer to do it. next : I've got the sport running boards...not sure I need them so may just sell them off. http://i.imgur.com/OliVIxt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3zOAlYN.jpg |
Good job! Yup, after I read that installing the roof rails required cutting, I went to my dealer and they installed it for $120 only. I would say that was money well spent. I installed the Sports running boards on my 2010 MDX myself. I have to say, if I recall, it was pretty easy and straight forward but it did take a few hours. Do not jump any steps and make sure all is lined up and tight. Quote:

^ Those OE roof racks pay us techs under 1 hour(flat rate).... Hate doing those! |
Finally drove the Matrix at night, I think the light of the LED plate bulbs really goes with the style of the taillights. You can also kind of see the one interior light I replaced and the one that I didn't (to see the difference). Not much difference in brightness so I'll probably just swap it back. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...psy44maq2a.jpg |
Finally got off my ass and wired in my Lukas power box. Tossed the old Power Magic Pro I had in there, extended some wires on the Lukas, and routed it to the glove box for a stealth install. Next up would be getting a splitter to run another dashcam to the rear of the car. Not sure which one to get though. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...srpqz7gul.jpeg |
How much was the Lukas box? |
woke up with a massive puddle of water on my driver side carpet front and back car was fine at 2am last night but not fine at 6am this morning :( today is going to suck |

Installed the new Wideband sensor into my Lc-1 and she fired right up! I was hesitant it was the sensor but i'm pretty excited that it was! Thanks to Underscore, scored one for $50 when I was down in the states. Fuck ya, love watching this thing. Also noticing how lean I was running on the road. Had the idle dialled in though. Haha |
Glad to hear you were able to get one cheap! |
:) PM me if you want a Lukas powerbox @ rs/friend discount, our shop usually has some in stock Can't really tell in pictures, but MUCH better in person. Swapped out my GP Thunder halogens for Lux cree angel eyes, thanks to someone here on revscene/SR :D https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...d4&oe=56C26A03 Wrapped almost all of my wood trim (8 out of 10 pieces... so many pieces) in gloss black. Used my left over material, and some material that my friend had left over from his car because I didn't want to buy a huge roll for only a small amount that I need for my pieces. Ended up using Arlon gloss black, Oracle gloss black, 3m magnetic gloss black w/ flakes, and Avery gloss black LOL. They all look almost identical (minus the 3m one since it has flakes), but they all wrap differently and have a very slight different feel to it. 3m has the best feel actually and was very easy to wrap with, where as Arlon was the worst. Luckily the Arlon wrap was only on one small piece, lmao interesting project over the past few days https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...d2&oe=56CE948B https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...9f&oe=568655F1 Still have to do the front door trims with the Avery material I just picked up from my friend. Gloss black completely transforms the interior, wood is just not my taste https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...7f&oe=56CD80AC Also dipped my front grills https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...9a&oe=56B7DE7A https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...73&oe=56B41184 Changed tranny fluid with redline fluid, shifts much smoother now :) Also put on some Vossen CVTs, figured I'd go with a different look this time (will also be selling the V12s on there soon for all seasons if anyone is interested ;) ) https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...73&oe=56B20A06 https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...5d&oe=56B312C4 Also slapped on the 12mm H&R spacers in the back that I picked up from a friend, along with Eibach Sportline springs that I have yet to tackle the install for. Illuminated shift knob will be here tomorrow :) Along with Nokya white turning lights.. M performance high kick rep spoiler also ordered. Finishing up the car a lot faster than I originally intended to lol. |
So I got my hands on 5 cans of plastidip anthracite gray which is a metallic gunmetal. I figured I have this extra set of oem wheels on winters so why not experiment on them just so I can change it from time to time. added glossifier as well to give it some shine. this is just an experiment to see how plastidip holds up to the winter elements while protecting the wheels from salt/mud etc. heated up the dip/glossifier and shook them well. http://i.imgur.com/3ZPRJug.jpg ...lets do it! i'll peel around the center emblems later. also put quarters into the lug holes so when the wheels go on, the impact wrench wont strip the dip. these will be hung to dry for a few weeks before they are put onto the car. http://i.imgur.com/hcaQtKi.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VnpGkx7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/O5tJSQ2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/udvOT1N.jpg http://i.imgur.com/di7jiNA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GXWt70L.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2IIIFVZ.jpg |

Canadian Tire - tire hooks. $15ea Rated for up to 75lbs. Works great. Never had a problem. Mastercraft Tire Hook | Canadian Tire |
Did an oil change on my 135i with oem BMW 5w30 and oem filter. Also changed the passenger door lock actuator as it was busted ever since I got the car. Today I installed the BMS JB4. Currently running map 1. Gauge hijacking is pretty cool and able to set gauge sweeping on start up is a nice touch. Took the car out for a short drive and the added power is noticeable for sure. I did not step on it or did not do any wot run as it was pissing so hard today and I'm still waiting for my Michelin PSS to come in. As always I forgot to take ANY pictures of any of my diys, haha. Here are some stock pictures. http://www.getbmwparts.com/sfimages/...mage218414.jpg http://www.burgertuning.com/images/J...ance_Tuner.jpg These will be mounted next week. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/images/...-Sport-Top.jpg |
JB4 makes it feel like a totally different car power-wise  How much was the OEM engine oil? Got my oil changed yesterday but with Motul. |
Got the oil change kit from GetBmwParts.com since I was ordering the door lock actuator and oem rubber mats and cargo tray anyway. I think it was USD$75 for the kit. A week later I was able to score 14 bottle of oem 5w30 and 2 filters (2 oil change) for $95 off CL. lol. Do you feel any difference for the Motul? Never had Motul in any of my cars before but heard good things about it and there are ppl who thinks it's overrated too. You're probably on Map 2 since you've got an exhaust as well? |
