X bar into the R!
Then attempted to swap the 96spec tails to 98 but seems like past owners siliconed the 96spec tails to the car making tougher to remove.. Theeen gave up
Next up is cleaning up the flaws of the exterior panels, small additions to the car here and there and hopefully will be ready for the upcoming summer |

This weekend really... working on the NSX interior as I expect most of the BNIB OEM parts to arrive in the coming weeks.
New door panels were extremely cost prohibitive (I'm ridding the NSX of the tan interior), decided to make the most of the stock Tan/Black units before I spend the outrageous amount of money...
No idea why this pic won't rotate, PB album shows correct orientation, whatever lol
NSX interior trim pieces have a nickel plating with paint on top, it's quite nice, but there is NO easy way to remove the nickel plating (you could use acid.. but your plastic parts will melt). The only way is to painstakingly remove the plating with a razor blade.. I have about 12 hours in and 75% complete all the pieces at best.. my fingers are a massacre, I have dozens of small cuts from the razor blades and plating fragments.
Tried to have my body guy prep the trim and he basically told me I couldn't pay him enough money to do it hahaha FML worst "small" job ever.
If you're curios about the black panel paint, it's SEM color coat using the SEM vynil prep, the shit works wonder and is super durable, equivalent to OEM in terms of look, feel, and overall quality assuming you prep correctly.

I have new leather seat covers coming and a bunch of new panels from Acura, the door panels are really the only compromise.
Upholstery shops in Edmonton want an arm and a leg for their half ass work.. so that's also an issue.

I had a similar issue with a picture once, I never figured out what exactly was happening (some kind of orientation flagging from the phone?) I just rotated it 90* past where I wanted it so when whatever it is fucks with it the photo ends up where it's supposed to be.

Tbh, I was skeptical about plasti-dip as it can cause a car to look cheap many of the times, especially on large surfaces such as a 2G TSX grill. Initially, I wanted it vinyl-wrapped in gloss back, but he assured me that he his work can yield similar results. Very happy with it.
Shoot him a PM for quality work! And yes I know, I need to get rid of that license plate frame lol | Looks waaaay better! Turned out great. Now you need to do the fog light bezels to complete the look, especially now that you know it'll turn out nice |

For the amount of money some people spend on plastidip, they could just hAve a show powder coat them LOLOLO. But I get it, DIY, temporary etc etc. Looks good tho.
But please, when you go to a tire shop to have new tires or a flat tire repaired, don't complain when it gets peeled or chipped.

its mostly for experimentation and 'self interest'.... I've got 2 dedicated sets of wheels so its fun to fool around on one set and try out different shades... dip is cheap and completely reversible...NOW...you wont see me dipping cars....just wheels.

-alternator died
-chucked in spare
-spare was only putting out 12.8V
-took old alt. apart
---cleaned contacts and replaced brushes
---14V+
$15 vs. $200 = WIN
Repairing > replacing = man card intact

Repairing > replacing = man card intact | Did the same thing about a month ago. Also put in what was supposed to be better magnets and also upgraded the cables to and from the unit, in hopes of increasing the output slightly. In the end it worked slightly better but not anything to write home about.
Due to the sound system and compressors in my FX I need something with a little more oomph. Ended up ordering a new higher output alternator through Mechman just last week, should be here by the end of january. This one is like a full 100amps more output than the unit I have now in my FX. That coupled with a high end, high capacity battery should kill any issues I have.

At least the wiring upgrade will get the most out of the new unit.

Then I take one picture once everything is done...
I've gotten better over time, and having pictures of everything helps many other people, for example when I took apart my interior I took countless pictures, those have come in handy so many times when people have questions, I have been able to go back to the pictures and show them step by step what they need to do.

Little more work on the NSX today, finally removed what was left of the DashDaq, alarm, and stereo. Such a hack job install, I've never even seen this shitty style of butt connector before lol This is behind the door speaker, I should have taken a pic of what was under the dash :s
Another shot of the now black interior, now just stuck waiting for parts

Wow... thats horrible. In a house yeah sure, not in a moving car which bounces and vibrates down the road...
EDIT: Wire nuts is the word I was looking for, yeah don't use those in a car...
