Took my Z to Morrey Nissan today to get serviced and also to get the hatch release thing fixed. Common problem with 370z... when you push the trunk release button the hatch pops up a little bit but doesn't release it from the locking mechanism so you have to push the button twice while pulling up on the hatch to get it to open. When I pick up my car the guy tells me I should get new struts because my aftermarket spoiler is too heavy for the trunk .... Here is a picture of my car, the black one is mine

I told him it's stock.. and he said "oh... well they lubricated the hinges and it works fine now". It worked fine for the first two times I tried to open it but after that it's exactly the same :/

Interesting story, man. Do you have a trunk relase button under your dash? How does that work? Not familiar 370z, but for g35 it works good. However, G35 doesn't have a release button on the trunk.

The only way to open the trunk is through the trunk release button on the rear bumper by the license plate lights. The 370z doesn't have a trunk release button on the dash or the key fob

Try unbolting the latch and move it down a bit?

It'll make it so the trunk is being held down lower, and more snug on the Weather Stripping. So when you go to release it, the trunk "Springs" back up.

Worked on 240's.

If I remember correctly, Noble came up with that idea.

Thanks for the idea, I did this on my civic as well when the JDM trunk didn't line up properly, not sure why I didn't think of it for my Z lol. I'll give that a try tomorrow

Not to hate or discredit Noble or anything, but that seems more like common sense than an ingenious idea

They don't really do wheel painting for customers. You need to talk to the owner.

Replaced both foglight bulbs, moar JDM tyte y0. Took stickers off the rearview mirror and replaced it with an RS lanyard :] Replaced the front 2 speakers with 6.5s. Still sounds like crap, gotta figure out why. Guessing it's something to do with combining a new head unit with 20 year old stock wiring =\
