Finally got around to finish this. Replace the lost motion assembly on the b16a. Taking the motor apart and putting it back togerther was scary as hell. The ticking is gone! engine sound so much smoother but I now have a rpm dipping issue after revving and a check engine light. This never ends lol. http://i.imgur.com/d4uenpt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fEQ348g.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gk38ozU.jpg |
Dropped the speed3 on KW coils and had an alignment done at Dales. The ride quality is amazing compared to the BC Coils I had on my 2014 3. Small PSA. I'm not sure if it's just me or the week I booked, but at Dale's they require you to leave your car for half a day to a full day for alignment on modified cars. This made it really inconvenient compared to back in 2009 when I was able to wait the hour for the alignment. |

Just got this Renntech Style Spoiler today...... Pain in the ass that I have to pull the existing spoiler off... http://i.imgur.com/wbX5q3U.jpg |
Got the car back from paint. it's going to take awhile to assemble everything. http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...psytnvoohb.jpg |
Got bored and decided to tackle my non working boost gauge. Over a year ago, I got a boost gauge with a digital readout that replaces the garbage stock unit in the gauge cluster. Had it all wired in, but it read a constant 0.0 PSI all the time. Gave up and finally got around to troubleshooting. Turns out I just didn't ground the sender unit. Lameee. Spliced in a ground and it works like a charm. Also hooked up the one I was currently using, because why not. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...psbwpe2gn4.jpg Temporary wiring job, until I get some proper sleeves to tidy it all up and tuck it nice like. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...pspgqrxhxq.jpg |
New engine has gotten this far. Hopefully will be sitting inside the bay by today if all goes well :D http://i67.tinypic.com/of7huw.jpg |
Think you'll have it ready for the dyno day next weekend? |
Not sure... Hopefully. Our goal is to have the swap done by Sunday but wiring still needs to be finished. But that should be finished hopefully tonight |
Fell just short of getting the engine in . Should be in pretty quick in the morning. Friend had to go home and finish re wiring the harness and the others had a previous engagement so we stopped a few hours ago. |
brand new car... so had to put in my usual updates.. LED license plate bulbs http://i.imgur.com/O92Hnav.jpg Matching super white fogs with the jewel eye headlights (i'll change the fogs to LED soon) http://i.imgur.com/XGIKJzJ.jpg rear dashcam (not hard wired) http://i.imgur.com/oWNIteV.jpg front dashcam (hard wired with power magic pro) http://i.imgur.com/dOKD9ql.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Y5EJ9NU.jpg |
Today I finally got the last piece of the lip kit puzzle finished (well almost, still needs a cut and polish). Condo living, you gotta make space for working on your car where you can lol. The amazing part is there is actually no dust in the paint or clear as hard as that is to believe for a spray done outside. The last car I painted in a booth had more contaminates. Bare poly urethane lip (Integra Type R) http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...psutjvzjdh.jpg Mandatory supply shot http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ps568qs6gu.jpg Wax and grease remover used to pull silicone and greases created by the polymer off the surface followed up by a 320 grit scuff followed up again by a wax and grease remover wipe down. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...psgr2rcn0x.jpg Sealer/Primer (there is a different between a sealer/primer and just a high build primer) applied since it is a bare plastic http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ps4vfwpaad.jpg Sanded with 600 grit. It laid down so smooth i didn't need to do a 400 grit sand http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...psez459usn.jpg Tack cloth wipe down after a microfiber wipe down http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...pshzkqungr.jpg Adhesion promoter (a must anytime a plastic body piece is used to prevent cracking in the paint from twisting, bumps in the road, steep ramps etc) http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...pspd75zfat.jpg First coat of paint (2 were applied) http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...pspjdug1tl.jpg 2 coats of clear at this point http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...psa92jvs7j.jpg 4 coats of clear http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...pstjpnzjre.jpg Cut and polish to follow in 5 days. It calls for 24-48 hour cure time but it was recommend by a coworker to hold off for 4-5 days when using these products as they are not as high grade as a professional product. It laid on extremely nice with no orange peel anywhere on the lip. Once it is cut and polished it will have a glass like reflection. That ladies and gentlemen is how to properly use rattle can paint. |
