I broke it.

Transmission is broken. I suspect I broke the clutch in a spectacular fashion when I downshifted the thing one too many gears while flooring it in M mode.
Goddamn SMG.
No sign of any fluids leaking
No shards or damage in engine compartment
Fun thing is there's no smell of burnt clutch (though I'm not entirely sure if the SMG clutch smells the same)

Either way car is in the shop (dealership, because my go-to usual shop says he doesn't want to fuck with the SMG). pending a fix.
Goodbye wallet.

asian_XL 11-04-2018 03:30 AM

good luck with that, there are not many chop shops in Hong Kong.

volvo wiper blade set $100

no aftermarket available unless you count bosch 'oem' which is $4 cheaper

:fuckyea:

my underlining sound deadening panel that is almost 2ft wide by 4ft long is $105 for comparison

One of the last few days of "good weather" before things start to get ugly, so I took it for a drive. :okay:

Today I stabbed myself in the fingers for about an hour. Somehow I managed to accidentally get one of the two replacement Russell fittings onto the braided oil cooler line in the process.

Took my truck to the dealership to get fixed, after I hit and ran over a bear on Halloween . Thank god it was a small-ish one..... and that I wasn’t in my celica (wanted to take it out that night but it was pouring rain and freezing)

dealer warranty fix on a bad wheel bearing with a brand new 2016 SUV with only 35'000 km.

kind of shit is this dodge? :seriously: it also ate two summer tires cause the bearing was so loose.

I did a bunch of these last summer. You know this by now, but cleanest cut is the key, and your first try is is your best bet at getting it on. I had good luck wrapping the line in electrical tape then cutting with a thin cut off wheel. I may have even left a thin layer of tape to get the fitting started then pulled it off after.

underscore 11-18-2018 12:23 PM

I haven't tried a cutoff wheel yet, in the past I tried the hacksaw like many people suggested but that was terrible. I found that tin snips work fairly well but getting the stupid SS braid trimmed to the right length is tricky since there's just so many strands. Tonight I'm doing the other leaky one so hopefully it goes better now that I remember what I'm doing.

dared3vil0 11-18-2018 02:17 PM

Thinnest cutoff wheel possible at the most RPM's.
