Bullshit, maybe in the 1980’s but that’s so wrong plenty of domestics nowadays are built to a very high standard

Only chrome on my truck is the F150 emblems on the front fenders- I had those done in Metallic dark grey to match the step bars. Instead of paint, it's colour-matched Line-X Ultra, which is a slightly smoother than bedliner, but still textured line x. Factory emblems were a BITCH to remove. Two clips you had to take half the engine bay apart to access from the back, and way too much 3M VHB (very high bond) adhesive.

no aftermarket available unless you count bosch 'oem' which is $4 cheaper

my underlining sound deadening panel that is almost 2ft wide by 4ft long is $105 for comparison

Is that just Canadian pricing?

Would these fit? List price $25 USD

Despite wanting to buy certain American products (New Ram 1500, C7/C8 Vettes, Alpha Camaro, etc.), I still can't say I believe that given what I hear from engineers at the Big 3.

I try to stay away from broad generalizations, but from what I'm hearing.. Ford can't get their panel gaps right even on their lux vehicles, FCA has finally stopped using the TIPM but seems to not QA whatever comes in from their suppliers, and GM's accountants seem to run the business.

twitchyzero 11-18-2018 09:50 PM

easy, just lease them or get extended warranty

underscore 11-18-2018 11:26 PM

Less time and finger stabbing tonight since I remembered what I was doing and had all the tools handy, hopefully these fittings don't leak like the old ones. I also drilled a bunch of holes in my Jeep to test fit the JCR sliders before coating them, everything seemed good so that'll be done soon and then my short ass will have something to stand on when I'm trying to get to the ski rack.

wifes car got the winter tire treatment ...

the wheels are just 16x6.5 so a bit tucked in but good enough... I kinda like the white on white.

Same ones fit your car. Also FCPEuro is a great site. Lifetime warranty on everything. I've used the warranty once already for my spark plugs.

Flew down to Cali, and before borrowing a buddies car was asked if I could put new flex lines into it. The job had what we call "mission creep"...

https://scontent.fcxh2-1.fna.fbcdn.n...d9&oe=5C814F2C

For the record, that is an entire front suspension (including subframe) swap, steering rack swap, new brakes, radiator repair, home alignment and the flex lines...all done in about 14 hours on the driveway. Car drove great for the 250 miles I used it this weekend!

Tonight I'm doing the other leaky one so hopefully it goes better now that I remember what I'm doing.

Good lord you must be hating yourself. Thin cutoff wheel at fast RPM is the ONLY good way to cut lines cleanly without a special set of hose cutting pliers that wear out after like three cuts.

Tape, cut-off wheel, blow out lines, assemble, flush, done.

Ordered a new CTEK Charger, went to my buddies shop to look at some wrap samples. Leaning towards copying the final EU Spec'd F80, which is Frozen Dark Grey with ZCP wheels, obviously everything will be period correct, so my car will have the M359s, not the 666M Comp wheels on the F80 lol.

Currently my car is black with a red extended leather interior, I think it will be pretty nice if I follow thru with that instead of doing Porsche UltraViolet like originally planned.

CCA-Dave 11-22-2018 02:55 PM

...made agreements to acquire another classic car, after driving an example of a model I don't currently own. This one will be fun when done, picking up in Dec.

At the moment I'm restricted to hand tools, as the only time I get to work on stuff is after my kid is asleep. It's painful to look at the forbidden fruit under the work bench but at least I'm slowly making progress on stuff.

hud 91gt 11-22-2018 11:16 PM

I would grab your grinder and drive to the closest McDonald’s or other store in the parking lot. 15 seconds later after firing up your grinder your done, with zero finger pricks lol.

underscore 11-22-2018 11:46 PM

Not a bad idea, I only had to replace the two fittings so hopefully I'm done dealing with those things for a while. Fingers crossed.

Found my AMP flooded in water. Due to an incompetent body shop that broke one of the three studs off my tail lights it no longer seals against the body properly which resulted in my AMP being flooded in about 3 inches of water.

Directly above, so pretty much.

Installed my front tow hook, and removed the rear diffusior to drill and mount the rear tow hook. Replaced the fog light bulbs (from h7 to h11 IIRC) and installed the exhaust valve defeat. That last one is a necessary evil for winter hooniganism. If the valve freezes shut or doesn’t operate 100% correctly it locks you out of sport, track and drift modes.

What diameter is the exhaust? Would you want to sell the valve?

Not sure but all those valves are welded in to the system, can’t just remove them. And come spring I’ll take the valve defeat out again anyways. Just use it for winter so I don’t get the drive mode error during ice racing
