Beautiful day out. Decided to throw the stock all seasons on the SVT while I try to figure out what to do with the OZ wheels I have for that car. Living on the edge with no jackstands
Washed the winter wheels for the SVT and RS, ready for storage
Finally managed to get some proper sized exhaust clamps, as that was the last item remaining from my winter rebuild. Many hours of labour in the cold garage through the winter, managed to get my first ride in of the season. Went south to Porteau Cove, that wasn't enough, so I headed up to Whistler to have a beer with my friend. Was grinning all day.
Put airbag helpers on the Rav. Put the airvalve right next to the rear AUX lighter socket. Right where I’ll plug in the compressor. Also installed the hitch wiring. Bought a weight distribution hitch the other day, and Goldilocks is ready to tow!
I just buttoned up my 94 civic, US ex coupe. Lowered, header, tires and wheels. This will be my fuel efficient car I will resist the temptation to modify.
Then I finished fitting the right rear fender on my 95 civic hatchback only to find the weld through primer in a spray can I just bought is dead. Sucks.

The '58 Beetle got the following this weekend:
• Upgrade to (front) disc-brakes
• New king pins & bushings
• New link pins, bushings and bearings
• New front wheel bearings
• Brake adjust (rear)
• Oil Change
• Valve adjust, set timing
• 'Cruiser' pedal, which is a normal pedal that covers the roller pedal early beetles have. My '58 is actually supposed to have a cruiser pedal from the factory, but that disappeared at some point in it's life. So now it has an aftermarket aluminum one.
• More sound insulation (hushmat) between engine and passenger compartment (probably won't do anything)
At one point doing the king and link pins I screwed up, and damaged a pin. Ended up mounting the front spindle in the lathe, which was an exciting (and dangerous) affair. Managed to fix it though, without breaking anything in the shop...so that was good.

ATE Blue brake fluid because racecar? :P
How is that for a bizarre brake rotor?!
HOLY SHIT
First time Ive seen that brake rotor. I know the wheel mount is weird and odd but that's crazy!
I changed my brakes. My rotors were hella warped, because my old caliper was seized, and there was about 20mm of rust ridge on the inside of both rotors LOL.
Also had replaced the RF caliper when I did my clutch last time. I put the new pads in and something wasn't right. The caliper kept hitting the caliper bracket. Luckily I still had the old caliper. Found out the "reman" caliper bracket seemed like new aftermarket and was casted too big. Swapped caliper brackets back and it worked like a charm...
Peep my coming-soon project. The batteries are flat. 5 volts
Managed to get a half day at work today, so spent the time washing the car. Last few washes I could tell there was no wax or sealant on the paint. So did the normal wash, then brushed the door jams/hatch, shampoo’d the engine bay. Did a full clay bar with instant detailer. At this point it’s been about 3.5 hours. Chose not to do a machine polish today as I’m beat. Just did a quick hand wax and skipped the interior clean. Will do before Sunday though. Paint has a lot of chips and the front bumper is peppered like mad. Guess I’ll call it patina ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
