meh...some interior accents... only cuz this is my 6th TL so i wanted to freshen up the interior that I know oh so well...plus this 3G is just a 'mess around' car... nuthin' serious.
No kidding, and the most you ever get out of it is a little "oopsie my bad" if you're lucky and a complete expectation that it's no big deal.
Meanwhile you leave the toilet seat up a couple times in a row and it's fucking world war 3.
when my wife scraped my front bumper/lip i ended up not talking to her for 2 whole days...not to just give her the cold shoulder but out of fear of what I would say in my anger lol.

I looked it up too. Bloody crazy and scary but pretty cool haha
I was a little iffy at first as well but after about 30 mins of watching what it does, I actually have more faith in OpenPilot than the factory LKAS system. The only crappy thing is my car doesn't steer below 60kph so I'm pretty much limited to using this on the highway. I was hoping to use it to crawl Low Level Road on my way home from work... LOL
This is far from a consumer product. It's still in the dev stage and it actually does a lot of data collection. It uploads your driving footage for you to review and explain why you took control or disengaged in certain situations. It lets the system learn how people actually drive.
If you have a compatible car and you like to mess around with it then give it a shot. If you want a self driving car then it's not for you... lol. It's still only Level 2 autonomy. You still have to be alert and aware of your surroundings and be ready to take control. It's basically Cruise Control 3.0.

Didn't read the whole thing. So the openpilot is an phone app or what?
It's not an app, they're just using a phone for the dev platform at the moment. It's easier than designing your own hardware when they need to design the software first. I'm guessing the final consumer product will be much more consumer friendly to install.

I lost faith in all automated vehicles when my wifes CRV slammed on the brakes when navigating through a coned construction area on the highway at 80km/h. I didn't even know the car had a system to control it. haha

Drove a VW Atlas this weekend - the blind spot assist was wayyy too sensitive and would shake the steering to 'warn' me when I tried to change lanes even when I was a car length ahead of the one in the other lane.
No way to adjust the sensitivity (but you can in a Hyundai) and no way to turn off the steering shake.

oh man that would be so annoying. I encounter a lot of double left turn lanes and the steering wheel shake would drive me nuts. i'm ok with a blinking idiot light in the mirror but at least i can ignore that.

There HAS to be a way to turn off the blind spot assist in the instrument cluster menu.
Gapped my plugs from .045 to .032 to see if I was getting blow out. Big negative. ...but in bigger news had bad thoughts of stripping the car down and repainting... sigh

Are you getting a misfire under boost? Do you have a vacuum advance distributor that is not meant to handle positive manifold pressure and moving the timing curve way too much

It’s going lean underboost. Fuel starvation has been my #1 thought, but I ran a big gap (0.045) with my LS coils. They should be able to handle my current boost but it was worth a try just in case. Building a surge tank to eliminate any fuelling issues. No distributor, all timing is via my ECU mapping, crank and cam triggers.
(Spark blowout aka misfire will show as lean on a datalog)
