Reason: I dun goofed
anyone live with a red cluster in their daily? does it get tiring after a while?
been envious of the abarth's italian styling so went ahead and ordered
Spoiler!
font's a little comic sans than i would like but it reminds me of a mechanical watch
As another option, Revlimiter makes nice gauge faces for a decent price. Ordered a set for my NA years ago and they were great quality. Never got around to installing them though...
It's been great so far and it's an amazing car. That being said, I purchased it with 70,000kms and full service history. I probably wouldn't have bought a V10 M5/M6 with higher mileage and no service records.
General maintenance and wear/tear items is more expensive because this car either takes a lot more of it (i.e. oil/fluids), or uses bigger parts (i.e. brakes, tires, etc...).

Little update on the last few days. Bought a sewing machine, and attempting to redo the interior in my boat. I have never touched a sewing machine before, and haven’t tried sewing anything since the frog in home ec in grade 6. I spent a week cleaning and adjusting the old machine, figured out how it works and started trying to do straight lines. After about 10 hours of youtube I got to work. Here is an “almost” finished project. The rear bench is rested on the table with foam inserted(old foam). It’s not stapled at all so it should tighten up really nicely when done (waiting on backing fabric and need to remake the rotten plywood base). Pretty happy overall... except how I stabbed the Scalpel through the front this morning while cleaning up some threads. That hurt. Not sure what I’ll do yet, either repair or start over (as it was the first piece and there is room for improvement).
Enjoy... gotta love youtube.
STAB
Spoiler!
This is the piece I started today. It’s about 4 times harder then the last. Lol fingers crossed.
Used a combination of tracing the old pattern, and just starting fresh. The vinyl is so stretch it was hard to get a decent base pattern. Corners are next yikes.
Probably going to limit Datsun updates like others have been doing to keep a low profile. May keep some random updates here and there and take down the build log

That would be a sad day, build threads are one of my favourite things to read.

I finally got around to swapping my front calipers for the reman'd ones I bought. A few hiccups getting them on and I was reminded how much I had working on anything that involves letting brake fluid out but they're on there and ready to be bled tonight.

Update on the brakes, I got them bled, pulled out of the driveway and heard a horrible noise while feeling a bunch of drag on the drivetrain. Pulled everything back apart and one of the slider tubes on the new caliper is slightly too short so the end of the bolt ground into the rotor. Swapped the bolt from my stock caliper onto it with an extra washer and hopefully all is well now.

Drove to cache creek for ice racing, but the insane amount of rain in 48h flooded the lake and covered all the ice in a foot of water. Was too dangerous and had to cancel the event Saturday morning.
Of course highway 1, highway 3 and highway 5 were all closed due to rock slides and flooding. So we were stuck there. Spent the day walking around historic Ashcroft. My wife was very disappointed. Didn’t get to race her Flex, and got 3 rock chips. I also cracked my windshield..
One benefit of having a lifted car, I was able to finally adjust the exhaust so it won't hit the rear crossmember and I didn't have to jack up the car at all, I can slide mostly under it.

It was used, about $2K USD, so pretty much a steal. It only has that one little scratch you see there. It was gonna come with tires, but I don't want to deal with the headache of trying to sell them here.
The ZE40, from what I know, is actually discontinued, since I've been looking for 18" in 5x120 spec for the past 2 years. Typically, 5x120 fitment is 19", so when I found this, I had to get this.
18x8.5 +30
18x9.5 +40
I would have loved to have gotten a square set up, because track, but at 18lbs a wheel and in exactly the style I want - it was pretty much no brainer.
Oh, I also picked up a 4 point harness that mounts to factory points (pic was for show and not run on street) and Vorshlag camber plates.
