I'm ok with the black roofs, but not a fan of blacking out the pillars.

I feel in general, black is being overused on anything they want to try to advertise as sporty and cool. Off the top of my head, the Veloster N is one of the worst culprits. The rear bumper is black, the spoiler is black. The car looks like it has a lifted ass and the silhouette of the car doesn't flow since the spoiler kind of "disappears". Black areas create the illusion of void spaces and draw attention away.

no plans to do anything else except add around 4 pieces of interior titanium/silver trim along the window switches. and add some oem options like a hitch.

won't touch the wheels. as for the roof getting hot... seems fine so far.. besides... 2020 summer is over.

here is a comparison shot.. day 1 when she got home vs now. reality is...there are going to be a ton of these on the roads soon enough... just wanted some slight stuff done to differentiate.

I might as well use this chance to recommend the Pilot Frixion erasable pens.
I absolutely love them. They actually have good ink flow, uses friction heat to erase, and you can rewrite on the same spot without issues.

Not like the PaperMate erasable ones from the 90's that had an eraser on the top, which really just acted like sandpaper and shreds the top layer of the paper off.

How do they handle heat? I can't remember which model but I had some for work a couple years ago and when I put my lunch on my notes the heat made a bunch of it disappear. Normally that's not really a problem but I'd hate to lose everything I wrote because I left it in the car on a hot day or something.

Normal day to day, no issues. BUT, if they get put into a hot scanner or something like that. It gets erased.
Learned this the hard way writing out an entire application form in Japan ( took me damn near forever with my shit reading and writing ability ), confidently handing it into the clerk and they come back shaking their head literally giving me this face .

In those specific scenarios, yes you have to be careful. The ink basically reacts to temperatures, but it never really "goes away".

It needs to be 60°C for the ink to vanish, but -10°C, the ink actually becomes visible again. You can stick it in the work freezer for a while, lol.

I fixed the 12v power outlet on my '98 Civic. I dug out my old Gtech Pro RR, now I need to get this car on a scale.

Spent the week building my new exhaust. Out goes the 2.5”, in goes a fully stainless 3” complete with a cat. Yup, added a cat to my vehicle which never came with one. Lol.

Tomorrow is the stressful part, making the tips. They are going to be a bit complex with lots of welding... which apparently I never got better at during this project. Lol.

New tubes, hit with scotch rite and WD40.

Home brew backpurge contraption getting some use.

All welded up and hit again with scotchbrite. Waiting for hanger pieces to dry before I mount it up for hopefully the final time. It takes about 5 minutes to hang the whole assembly. Same for removal.

I expected it to take me 2 days, it took 5/6 lol. I could never be a fabricator. Haha.

Well, i slept like crap so decided not to test out my welding as the plans are already past my abilities. But I did go for a drive. It’s loud lol. So I will be adding another resonator.

Also, do not run without tips. You will fry the paint off your rear valence. Shit!

As a bonus, the exhaust started changing colour. I do believe this calls for a “dope!” Lol.

Serious question, how much weight does it save?
Serious question #2, is that vent part of your aero package? or is it just there because it only comes vented?
Not very serious question, how's the fit? Seems to be somewhat decent.

Saves about 4lbs a side or something like that. I would never say I have an “aero package” as that makes it seem thought out. I’m just a ricer who happens to track his car sometimes, so all my mods are mostly just for fun. Fenders are 0.9” wider each side, and vented. Fit is what you’d expect for an aftermarket carbon part. The drivers side is probably 90%, the passengers side was originally maybe 60%, but after some adjustment/mods I’d say I’ve got it to about 80%. Just unboxed the hood tonight and spot a few imperfections, but hard to see at night so I’ll wait til tomorrow
