I find in Richmond there are a lot of farm roads that lead to Mexico. They’re fine for 3rd but I need to do 4th gear 2500-6500 which is usually 180 or 185 iirc. A little sketchy for the Baja 1000 lol

There are a few tunnels that go to Mexico that you can probably hit that on

Nice, mine is northbound on 99 after Steveston.
Flat, 3 lanes, and a wide shoulder lane. I usually come out pretty late though and literally hang out in the shoulder until it's completely clear.

Sold the Silvia some time ago and now have moved on to trucks.
Was quite a challenge installing the heavy steel sliders by myself. Laying on the floor holding one end up with my foot, other with my elbow while trying to get a bolt threaded in.
Got roof rack on and made some brackets to fit my rotopax, box and recovery boards |

That’s the way it’s been done on farms and camp/off strip situations since the beginning of the tubeless tire! I love it. Haha.

Not gonna get in to it but one of those mods where you start to doubt your love of cars
Still to do
- tires should arrive tomorrow. Install on the WedsSports
- final tune revision (need to go to Mexico for datalogging....)
- front sway bar and endlinks install
- brake fluid flush
- order spare brake pads?
- finish aligning the front for more camber
- anything else that comes up | I saw this car parked at Costco last weekend! My dad and I was checking it out. He said "that's a race car" lol

Just stopped at Chevron at Main / 12th. As of 15 minutes ago they had 94 for $1.67 since they ran out of everything else except diesel.

Sunday afternoon both Chevrons on Westminster/No.2 and Royal Oak/Rumble had no gas except 94.

The rest of the connectors I needed finally showed up, so I got the roof lights fully wired up.
High beams
High beams + roof lights
Yes my garage is a mess. I still need to aim the fog lights and roof lights, but the results seem promising.
I'd also gotten tired of the reflective triangle we need for the TSD events just bouncing around wherever. I chopped up the old seat bracket I had kicking around since I have no idea who made it and therefore don't trust it as an actual seat bracket, flipped it around backwards and clamped it down with the seat mount bolts. A couple of velcro straps and on it goes.
I may add some extensions rearwards to support the heft of the weighted base a little better, but for now it's in. I used the other half to make one to mount the fire extinguisher on the passenger side, but the mounting bracket for that hasn't arrived yet.

Ok, I didn't really do anything to my car today but now that I'm out of a condo, I picked up an AC Hydraulics DK20Q jack today. Did a test lift on my Boxster. Thank goodness it fit.
This jack is the sweetest jack I've ever used. Waiting on stock for some Esco jack stands and some Elephant Racing, Rennline, and Tarett Engineering suspension goodies to come in. Feeling like Christmas in July. FedEx is gonna be my new Santa Claus!

I originally got some low profile ramps for light maintenance but even that didn't work. Bumper would scrape like a mother. I few jacks I bought advertised as "low profile" would barely fit despite doing homework on the specifications in advance, so I wasted a lot of time going back and forth to various stores. After all that, I said F-it and ponied up for the DK20Q knowing that it works.
If it means anything, the car is lowered 1" from factory height. Rear toe is maxed out and extremely limited once lowered, so the only way is to get aftermarket adjustable rear toe control arms.

I got annoyed with the oversized spare tire being jammed at a weird angle in the spare tire well that was too small and making my trunk pretty useless, so I made a hitch mount tire carrier. I just need to add a piece to limit how far down it can swing and stick the license plate on the spare when the light I ordered arrives. Eventually I may also eliminate the spacer but that'll take a bit more fab work. The nice thing is all I have to do is loosen the ubolts and remove one bolt and I can use it as a bike rack again. If anyone's interested in how it's put together I can post the specifics of how I made it but basically it's a bike rack with a piece removed, a spare tire mount for a trailer, and a couple extra bolts. Everything I used is rated for much more than the spare weighs and I shortened everything which in theory increases the capacity as well.
In the default position there's loads of clearance to the glass
I drilled two move holes in the hinged piece so it can also be locked a little closer in which is really just because I think it looks nicer.
The only downside is now the hideous spare rim (that I only bought because it was $20) is now visible. I need a better spare or a cover or something.
