Nice! I’m not the only one :p https://i.ibb.co/rwfbmqF/2-BA53-AB2-...42-DCE8-BB.jpg scream resurrection free online |
Woops posted in wrong thread! |
I stuck new jobber axles in my beater TSX. The reviews were good and they were cheap from RockAuto. After changing the one sloppy axle and the the vibration only got a little better I was thinking this is a perfect excuse to part it out and buy another commuter. I changed the other side anyway, it's now vibration free. Mixed emotions. https://www.instagram.com/p/CT-6v0KJ..._web_copy_link |
My shxtbox was having some difficulties shifting from 2nd to 3rd under hard acceleration at the track last week. Thinking back, I think the problem seems to have occassionally cropped up earlier this year under similar circumstances, but it was happening more frequently last week. The problem doesn't occur during regular street driving. I suspect the engine mounts are starting to go, so I proceeded to purchase some replacement mounts, a tube of high temp RTV silicone, and filled up the voided areas around the rubber engine mount with the silicone. Gonna give that stuff a solid week or more to cure before putting the beefed up engine mounts on the car. https://scontent.fyvr3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...be&oe=616AE204 As you can see, they look absolutely ghetto LOL~ But I am hoping that they will at least work well in holding my engine still while I am gunning it hard. And hopefully, the silicone will still have enough give in it that the NVH wouldn't be intolerable. Wish me luck LOL~ |
Probably would have been better using urethane rather than silicone |
I always thought that urethane (3M window weld) was the go to for that mod. |
First of all, I fully admit that I have no idea what I'm doing~ :eek5r: Secondly, from doing ghetto home repairs, it seems to me that fully cured polyurethane sealants would be quite stiff. So while I certainly want the engine to stay put during hard accelerations, I am not trying to turn my shxtbox into full racecar mode, so I didn't feel comfortable with polyurethane. Thirdly, since the mounts are gonna be sitting right next to the engine block, I figured whatever "stuff" I end up using is going to need to be capable of handling that heat. The high temp RTV silicone that I bought was advertised to be capable of handling up to 246°C, so I thought that might be appropriate. I'll keep polyurethane in mind if I ever end up doing something similar again. In the mean time, I hope that RTV silicone would still work sufficiently well... |
Why do engine mounts cause bad shifting? The motor and the trans is bolted together? |

Technically the wifemobile, the hubcentric rings showed up so I tossed on the new wheels and tires. I didn't realize the wheels were "direct fit" and used Toyota lug nuts, so the brand new purple Moteki nuts I bought are now homeless. I think I have at least 10 extra sets of lug nuts now lol. Before: https://i.imgur.com/9TZOxoh.jpg After: https://i.imgur.com/E86fE58.jpg I ordered +35 instead of the stock +45 so things are filled out a little better. https://i.imgur.com/RBTqjqV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KgnmZ7u.jpg |

I'm still looking for a good pr3 head/swap to go around my c5 block. |
|
No, but a crack head is going to take care of all that for you in about 2mins. Prob not a great idea to have that thing exposed to the elements, anyways. |
yeah worried about it becoming a tool to smash glass seems pretty good build quality being marine/coast guard approved so i'll take my chances with corrosion/uv and heat not interested in seat mounts dont want leg room intrusion, i have fabric molle on tailgate but haven't figured out how to reinforce it no MVA/VI concerns transporting it on the outside? |
…nothing. But this arrived at 5am this morning (wtf?)! Last month I sold my entire turbo setup. Manifold, turbo, wastegate, BOV, lots of piping… and bought this, and a manifold flange! New setup in the works. Pumped. Going to build a true twin scroll manifold. Love the EFRs as the packaging is so compact. This is a EFR7064, 7163 was what I dreamed about (smaller frame size) but found a deal on this and it will fill my needs 10x over I’m sure. https://i.ibb.co/wNFMmvV/image.jpg |
I realized I posted the pics in the wrong thread as I should have posted in here instead. But "upgrading" the family car X3 from 19"-20", and from Bridgestone RF to DWS06+ made a huge difference to the car. It feels like I installed new suspension considering how it drives. The cons though, I can feel the rolling resistance has increased compared to the more eco minded tire. |

Is that just a regular led strip? And where do you charge in HK? |
it’s the neon-like ones where you don’t see each individual diodes |

shopping malls have charging stations, not difficult to find one, but a lot of Tesla in HK |
Just Elon's christmas gift. |
I drove by a parked Tesla doing this last night and was wondering wtf it was causing quite a distraction… people thought it was an emergency vehicle. Should have known it’s just Elon flaunting rules to be an attention whore again haha |
FINALLY bought a garage to put her in! :tears: Waited my whole life to have my own garage and man it feels good to finally have one. Going to take some time to get organized and figure out where and what I want to do with regards to built in storage and flooring but looking forward to finally having a place to work on it without having Karen from Strata fining me for working on my car in the underground. Any hookups or good experiences with garage flooring or built in storage? Looking to hopefully get it ready for early spring. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...99f29086_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...d7d5cba7_c.jpg |
Unit 14 doe, but looks like you have a super tall garage and can possibly fit a lift? :notbad: |
