heating up the sticker helps take it off easily, but be careful not to heat it up too much because the heat softened the paint on the metal plate itself and I accidentally scratched some of it off

getting closer to a stock turbo N54 world record but i might need to go stupid with weight reduction to get it. Trying to avoid gutting it.

68style 05-17-2022 06:12 AM

What is the world record time?

i was at 3245 last year, now im at around 3300.

trollface 05-17-2022 07:55 AM

We are both around 460-470whp and 530wtq
Stock n54 internals can take up to 700whp
His record was set few years ago.
Later on he added nitrous and did 10.1 on stock turbos.

Now hes got a 2jz in his e90 pushing well over 1000whp

I mean... if you go by that old "every 100lbs is .1 off your time" rule the muscle car crowds have always stood by... you're running 10.2x if you dropped 600lbs

PS I like that you're tracking it on D plates lol

0.1s per 100lbs definitely works up to a certain point.
Biggest gain i got was from a new trans tune that came out few months ago. My car was lighter last season and my best time was 11.08. So im sure if he had this trans tune few years back that he would be in the low 10s. Also his car was gutted to the last bolt. No dash, carpet, sound deadening, etc. I only got my seats out and a lighter battery.
Im paying for that dplate so why not use it :)

Bro just go to point roberts. 92 is (after conversion) about $1.99/L

BIC_BAWS 05-19-2022 05:37 PM

$1.91 (or $1.96 after FX fees) in Blaine.

I spent $181.46 for 92.5L, saved $54.

This Shell 93 juice does have the 10% ethanol "crap", but it is legit good gas -- the best stuff you can get locally in Metro Vancouver:

Still, I'd pick US Shell 92 over it any day of the week right now.

And if you're filling up locally at Shell, don't forget your BCAA membership card (for 3¢/L off) as well as your Airmiles card.

Badhobz 05-20-2022 11:11 AM

^ Thanks Traum, thats a good tip about the BCAA card.

Working on the daily beater TSX. I finally took off the winters I bought last season. Last minute decision I ended up sticking the teins back on. This will be the last time I want to swap suspension, at least it's quicker lowering than putting to stock.

Vacuum, interior de-dust and wipe down.

Mmmmmm 1.5$ saved on a 110$ tank of gas, plus that bulge in your pants of a 20 card wallet

I know that you can link your air miles with the shell app, but can you add bcaa into the app too?

The Airmiles promos can be quite good at times. For the past 2 or 3 months, Airmiles has been having a $5 + $5 giveaway per month (in Airmiles, of course) on your 2nd and 3rd 30L+ fill ups. So that's roughly $10 saved from ~$180 - $200's worth of gas.

Finally fixed a small but deep paint scratch from someone that curbed my door without telling me. A bit of rust formed on the bare metal and I wasn't sure what the right repair process is, but 68style came to the rescue with instructions and the repair turned out well :D

Starting work on the new Mustang GT. I drove a WRX STI all winter but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Found a dealer that was willing to pay me the same amount I paid for the WRX last November on a trade for their low km (27km) 2017 Mustang GT 6MT.

Installed lowering springs, and adjustable rear control arms to get the alignment into spec. Bolted on the wheels that Great68 brought over from the Island for me. The pic in the driveway was immediately after the springs were installed, the car hadn't settled yet, she's down where she needs to be now. It's a pretty conservative drop, just enough to get rid of the wheel gap and maintain a bit of rake.

Next up will be some spacers to untuck those front wheels a bit, a catback exhaust system and a rear spoiler. Should have all that work done next week. Ah, the joy of living in a town where the local constabulary have better things to do than issue VI's for having your car lowered and an aftermarket exhaust!

Do you guys just do tape measure and jack stand alignments?

Badhobz 05-27-2022 05:12 PM

I just watched ford vs Ferrari so I’m a big ford fan right now. ^^^ you’re doing a bang up job there
