I've always had a soft spot for the Z series. Was close to getting a Z4M but backed out thinking back to the joys of BMW ownership.

Just checked Craigslist prices in Vancouver for Z4s. Good lord. :heckno:

M coupe would be the perfect car for you

I'd say get a Z3 coupe and stick M badges on it, fool 60% of car enthusiasts............... but even those are hilarious prices

Behold my latest exploits:

So Z4 power top is broken and BMW wants to remove the top, drain the system and replace the entire pump unit. I don't even want to know how much labor is as the part alone is $800.

Useless Z4 roof repair info:
Remove the entire pump assembly from the cubbyhole. Turn the unit upside down to prevent air bubbles inside the system and remove the motor and “spacer” held by two hex bolts. Remove the plastic pump gear and the metal shim carefully. Split the spacer from the motor with a mallet and remove the motor mounting bracket held on by two more hex bolts. Go on Amazon and start comparing generic $90 mystery motors till you find one wit the correct shaft length and key grooves. Reverse all these steps and fill your reservoir with jack oil via a bubble tea straw.

You just saved yourself $2-3 grand. Thug life.

So while we are on BMW woes, here are my recent ones with our 2004 R53 Mini Cooper S

1. Front radiator cracked (surprise, surprise)
2. Crankshaft pulley / harmonic balancer died (cracked and separated)
3. Alternator died
4. Idler pulley

Car has something like 323K KM on the original engine. #BMWLife

You really shouldn't be gripping that hard anyways

I unplugged the valved exhaust and tapped up both connectors/connection points. Luckily no check engine light or error codes.

Now the valves are always open and it sounds that much better for it (if youre reading this cain ignore everything i just wrote).

bro.... i shoved my huge fat melon of a head underneath my car, pressed two clips, taped off said clips and removed melon head from car anus in under 5 minutes. I wouldnt call that DIY. What you do is DIY.

p.s. this is all because roastpuff's wife said my car was SO QUIET when i left the meeeet. Oh and she mentioned its like a blue Del Sol (props to your wife bro!!! <-- no sarcasm, shes really nice and glad to have met her)

I am always a fan of white rims, but too flashy for a car picking up kids from school. Going back to regular look.

Might be a good idea to put some dielectric grease in the connector to prevent corrosion and then use some good electrical tape :)
