Yeah I did it a few times, no dice. I'm still scratching my head as to what else could cause it to sit higher than stock. It rides and handles perfectly fine though.

Worked on my 09 mdx. This is the last year mdx that doesn't burn oil, I don't mind spending time and money on it.

I did the t belt, water pump, dropped and resealed oil pan, oil pump, oil filter boss, vtec sol, front seal, access belt. And another oil change cuz pan was off, changed all the oils on it last month.

1st time using permatex optimum grey, I hope it's good.

^^ how is the mpg on the MDX, not a huge fan of the styling but seems like a Rx competitor? I'm assuming needs premium too?

Not great on gas. City driving 15l per 100 kms, takes premium.

I looked at the new rx because of the d-4s. Looks good on paper, I didn't like it in person.

Any advice on removing the harmonic pulley bolt?

I feel like I've tried everything and it just won't budge. Bought the Lisle 19mm harmonic socket with an impact gun and still no luck.

Time to fight with a little bit of fire. Heat her up! The last person who worked on my Taco tightened the bolt so tight none of the impacts or air impacts were working. Had to heat it up good then used a Snap-on air impact and she finally came off with a lot of effort. We tried 3 different branded impacts and the Snap-on was the only one that got it off.

I've tried heating it up with no progress. Going to have to try it again. The funny thing is I've tried 3 different impact as well, but no Snap-on.

I have a DeWalt mid-torque that is ridiculously powerful - about as good as a Snap-On air impact. If you wanna try that let me know.

800 lb/ft breakaway torque

I love Mazda's but just can't make do with ~185hp.

My 269hp RAV4 V6 gets about 11l/100kms on regular.

That’s pretty bad. Tiny spy balloon wife drives with a tiny lead foot and the v6 rx still gets around 11-12L per 100km. On the highway she can get almost 8-9L/100km due to the 8 gears.

That Lisle socket usually works. You can wrap it in wheel weights, wrap those in duct tape and try it again. If you can, try a shorter air line, move closer to compressor, lube the gun, all the regular stuff. Or swing by a neighbours and try his setup. I'm pretty sure I can get it off if you're near Rmd.

11-12 in your RX is fantastic. That's about what I get beating on my Civic.

The pre 2010 MDX is pretty bad on gas but it should outlive every honda engine built in the last dozen years. No active fuel = not an oil burner, no GDI. But ya its hard to keep telling my wife all the new cars are junk.

Jump back to 2017, my gsxr 600 had some light cosmetic damage and needed a bunch of maintenance parts. I stripped it down, did a little work but then that summer I got my focus RS. The bike went on the back burner…
Spoiler!

Then I moved, then had a child etc. I moved spring 2020 so I ordered a bunch of stuff, but with borders closing and shipping halting most my shit was cancelled. It then sat in the garage and slowly got junk piled on it for 3 years.

Did a massive garage clean up and organize in late February, cleared space and made some big lists of parts to order. I skipped a few things like suspension mostly because at this point it’s more important that it’s just all together and ridable.

And today I took it around for its first ride around the block.

I know it might not sound insane all condensed like this, but it was so much work and a labour of love. Will update this post with a mod list later tonight
