^ seems like a pretty far place and not the safest hood to have to go and drop off used oil. Is it really that satisfying? I mean, to each his/her own but sounds so troublesome tbh.
How much do you save, what does that work out to in terms of time and/or gas to Newton and back.

did the oil change at my panorama townhouse - 10mins from that depot.
savings? it's also all about the DIY experience - so easy to do if you take your time.

I just drop off my oil at the local jiffy lube. I recall looking it up and finding that they have to take it and hepp dispose of it. As long as it's a reasonable amount of course.
Kept the boost the same at 8psi, gained 50hp with timing changes lol. Ended up backing the timing down a hair but was at 297hp so added a psi in the last 1000RPM so I could say it was 300hp legitimately. Lol Stock tranny so had no desire to push more boost/torque.

Nice to see it on the road. I was there yesterday. Our place is a couple of doors down.
Did I park at your place in the morning, when I thought it was RG? lol.
I blew the turbo to manifold gasket shortly after I made it home. Never even made a decent pull on the road. Haha. It’s quite the endeavor to change and I no longer have a garage. Figures.
Got all my parts in to fix the Type R. I spent the last 4 hours working on it just to find out that all the hardware I bought is unnecessary and the ones I need, I don't have. Of course, these happen to be the bitch clips that I broke and the ones I didn't break... I have an abundance.
Took out the damaged undertray just to find out it wasn't all that damaged and I could've saved $1K lol. Took out the right fender liner, same shit. Wasn't that bad, but I guess I should just replace it since it's missing some necessary components. The right side brake duct wasn't damaged but I had to purchase in a set so I replaced it anyway. Honda stupidly designed it so you have to look through the fog light grille to see what you're doing in there LOL.
Left side brake duct I couldn't mount. Turns out the part I was replacing (under tray) doesn't have a mounting point for the brake duct, which I tore out, so I'm gonna have to figure out a backyard brake ducting solution since factory points are long gone.
This has been a more frustrating experience working on the Type R than any of my previous BMWs. With BMW, parts were easily accessible (OE options avail) and parts diagrams were actually clear as to what part goes where and how many of x you need for install. Honda? Yeah good luck. I have a pretty good part guy but even then it was pretty difficult to figure out everything I needed, which evidently I don't have everything I needed.

are you talking about the lower engine cover? The type R is $975, the 1.5 ex turbo $1350 and the regular old non turbo sedan is around $185. I haven't tried to put the cheap one on a type R but it fits on the 1.5 good enough.

Yeah the lower engine cover 74110-TGH. Not cheap and it's unfortunate I didn't end up needing it.

i only do alignment when the suspension geometry gets touch and everytime i put on brand new tires
Same for me. Doing the alignment is cheap insurance for if/when you need to make a warranty claim should anything happen to your (new) tires during the warranty period.

Did a drain and fill on my E46's auto transmission this weekend. For those unaware, the transmission fill plug is by the pan, so you have to fill the car while it's on jack stands or on a lift and then top off the fluid while the transmission is warm.
cleaned the brembos, added a 5 and 10mm spacer, and had my fenders rolled. rolled the dice and let a kid i know from the gym roll my fenders for $100
i need to retape the janky lip too but it wasnt hot enough today to pull it off.
