You make it sound like it's the next worst product of the automotive world trailing behind a Soviet-era Lada. |

So the LC will likely hold around 50-80k ish for the conceivable future you wont make any money, but at least you wont lose too much if you hold it for 10 years+ p.s. even that MOST EXCELLENT, BEST CAR EVER, SC430 are still 15-20k for an early 02 one, and 06+ they are well over 25k-35k |

SC430 is the most misunderstood and underappreciated Lexus of all time. I have big regrets not getting one when they hit rock bottom prices. |
I agree FK8's are a dime a dozen. FL5's are pretty tough to come by since they are so limited in Canada. The early reports of ~500 for the lifetime of the 11-gen cycle are standing to be true. |

But your run of the mill 991 and 992 c2s and c4s are gonna go the way of 996 and eventually come down to like 20-40k. 997.2 being the exception because it’s last of the hydraulic steering and more analogue beetles. The 991 gen is gonna take massive haircuts on the more common beetles. It’s like worst of the everything. First gen EPS, pdk, etc. |
I think 996s right now is cheaper than e46 m3s  tempting but never driven one and if RR layout is that good? |
E46M is on the upward trajectory, whereas 996 is still flat or falling depending on model, unless you talk about the GT3. It's not a great comparison really because the E46M is the pinnacle of the model, whereas there's a lot of humdrum 996. 996 = 325i 996S = 330i 996 Turbo = M3 996 GT3 = M3 CSL |
996 is garbage until you hit the GT3 or Turbo models. Maybe the C4S with the wide body kit. They are pretty pedestrian otherwise but still a good entry into the world of Porsche. 997s suffer from stupid crap like bore scoring and everything. So as cool as they are, it’s an unexplained phenomenon Porsche won’t address, leaving the 991/992s as the bees knees and eventually will plummet to 996 status. On the other side of BMW / Porsche ownership, let me state the obvious: parts for Porsche are expensive. They do a good job having parts available for many, many years from the factory and generally good aftermarket, but compared to BMW, parts are generally easily available and they are significantly cheaper in comparison to Porsche since there is a greater community and a larger aftermarket and race crowd. You don’t get that with Porsche. The tax is real. If you fantasize about Mezger engines, and GT3s, and all the race cars, these engines are in another league altogether which I guarantee very few people on this forum are in, or have access to. Here on this forum, we're just chumps who can only dream. When my Boxster dies, my next track car is a BMW. Sorry, Porsche fanboys. Edit: My gripe with Porsche, and this is a reality many people forget because of the rose coloured lenses is if your engine blows, or your transmission decides it doesn't want to cooperate with you and suddenly explodes, an engine rebuild is at least $20K minimum. Sometimes, that in itself exceeds the cost of the car. So why? Some people are known to have rebuilt their engines for north of $40K. The math and logic don't make sense, but when you're rich, it just becomes a dick swinging contest. BMW on the other than hand, despite how much flack and hate I give it, you can rebuild an engine or find a used engine for a reasonable cost and still come out on top. Finding a used Porsche engine? Good luck. BMW ownership doesn't have the same tax and headaches as Porsche ownership. Anyone looking to get into a Porsche - I still recommend it. As long as you accept the fact that it will cost an arm and a leg, and shit will break catastrophically, you might have to just tighten your belt and not eat steak for a week or decide if your kid can't go to Disneyland and have braces too. Or just avoid it altogether and stick with a Toyota or Honda, or whatever floats your boat. |
what kinda steak is bcdukes eating :speechless: |
Badhobz dog eats better than me. I'm on the poverty line because Porsche parts cost too much. :D |

The new door control module showed up so I should have power locks working again soon. https://i.imgur.com/cTmGOdp.jpeg The headlight plug was crunchy, I guess the Hella conversion headlights run hotter, so I snipped this off and wired on a new high-temp one. https://i.imgur.com/n2cheqZ.jpeg |
Phantom(Costco Tuxmats) installed. These things are great https://i.imgur.com/Yfta4Un.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OtxtsZY.jpg https://i.imgur.com/JmmHrvb.jpg |

But but but Costco….. I love Costco too much. Argh they don’t even make a set of mats for my wife’s rx. It’s too old (how very Chinese) |
If you e-mail Tuxmat directly, they likely have it in their inventory or can make it for you. They are in the GTA. :peek: |
How dare you choose Costco over AliExpress, just buy a quilted set from AliExpress for half the price. |
Aliexpress mats aren’t that cheap! And it has this moldy vagina smell. My co-worker got a set of those quilted mats for his car and we all asked him to stop letting his wife sit in the car. He was mildly offended and said it wasn’t the wife it’s the mats. Highly sus but I guess that’s it. It made his car smell funky for like 6 months even followed him into the office. We all refused to sit in his Range Rover for lunch. |
Hmm my set of custom mats were fine, they even reshipped it when they made a mistake and sent my lhd vs rhd |
