Swapped both cars over to winters yesterday

Since it's around 10C during daytime and mornings are gonna be sketchy on 200TW with the M3. Since I got started with swapping might as well do the X5 as well. All I can say is, those 21" 315 rears are fucking heavy.

I did the Audi winters this weekend too. Man I was spoiled after working on the S2000 this summer, 17" forged wheels and 255 tires weigh a good 20-25 lbs less than the 18" Audi wheels lol

Do you guys think my stock VN Summers are better than China Winters in this super wet / hydroplaning month?

I've hit a few oh-shit puddles on number 1 recently that caused me to slip even at 80-90KM.

Snow tires perform notoriously bad in rain / wet road conditions compared to other tires, so I would say yes as long as temps are above 3-ish C

Okay, I guess no winters for another 1-2 weeks until ski season.

I like the look of my winter wheels!

Not really what I did as to what happened and is going to happen but...

Suddenly stalled and waited almost 4hrs in the rain for a flat bed in the left turn lane. Hazards on long enough to drain the battery.

Timing belt shredded, looking like nothing catastrophic yet.

Got new tires mounted on my wheels. This car is such a PITA to jack up. The front jack point is basically in the middle of the car, and despite having ramps, I still needed to jack up from the side to be able to slide my hydraulic under the car.

The rear jackpoint is covered by a flimsy plastic piece on the diffuser, that I felt like I was to snap off and ended up just jacking up from the side.

I always jack from the sides, the front and back ones just seems too sketchy and I don't have a low long enough jack to reach in

I can't get a jack under my car either, so I have a couple of wood planks stacked up to make some very simple ramps that I just leave on the floor and park on all the time.

Yep, FK8 has same problem if you remember. Dumb as hell. I use the scissor jack to get the side up, then I access the front centre jack point from the front.

I got an adapter for the scissor jack so that I can attach it to my impact gun and use that to bring it up. It's a bit wobbly, but it does the trick.

That's a good idea too. I have one of those adapters saved in my amazon cart, but haven't bothered with it yet.

I just got a rubber pinch weld adapter for my floor jack and lift it by the side jacking points.
