I installed the clearance shift knob from raceseng. Getting the original shift boot off was the hardest part. That thing is a bitch. I thought I broke it a few times.

This knob is so big and heavy that it makes it almost effortless. It’s better than the stock knob for sure but I think I prefer one smaller like the Honda shifter.

so im planning on running a swan neck wing on the e46 (yes, for ricey purposes, not track)
how important is it to reinforce your trunk on a street car?
in the past ive gotten vehicle specific wings so the base/stands meet the edge of the trunk and no reinforcement plates are required/provided. pretty much plug and play.

swan necks arent offered for the e46.
so im probably going to just order one for a s2000 since its only offered for s2000,gr86,supra,gtr.
but they all come with trunk specific reinforcement plates.
ive never installed a center mount wing before. im sure the plates are for proper weight distribution but i think it'll be fine. right RIGHT??

sweet!

next time i come to the meat, I'm going to bring some clothes hangers and we can hang it off the back of that wing so I can dry my Kirkland stuff.

I really REALLY wanted to buy a corolla XRS and put such a huge wing on the back

I keep forgetting to tell you... I see like a Corolla XRS a day here in Calgary... I don't know why there are so many of them running around.

I mean they're all rusty af at this point but I can't remember hardly ever seeing one in the lower mainland.

If it's for rice purposes, I don't think it matters. We'll just make sure to test it for you at the next Stock and Noob meet and use it as a drink and food tray while lying about how many pounds we gained while on a cruise ship.

I think it would matter if the wing ends up generating some 50-100lbs of downforce when you are doing 120. 120kmh is pretty easy if you are going up and down s2s or even just gunning down Knight Street in anger.

Try pressing on your trunk, it starts giving at 50lbs? and the wing mounts are pretty narrow/small so the pressure per surface area is pretty high.

Then you need front canards to offset rear down force so you don't understeer everywhere

Spoke to a guy running a gtr swan neck on his f80 with no bracing, he says it’s fine as long as it’s an oem trunk. I guess I’ll cross that bridge if it starts to warp my trunk.

I had a wing once and it generated so much downforce my car would not even move in 1st. I adjusted it to tilt upwards and it generated so much lift I got a call from YVR air traffic control because I didn't file a flight plan.

Ended up trading the Swan neck for a duck neck and things are much better now.

My voltex Type 5 actually did warp my evo trunk. I had it at full tilt (max downforce) for RICE reasons....

The 2 places where the wing mounts to the trunk actually sunk in... (We only noticed it after the wing got stolen... I think it was on the car for a good 3 to 4 years?)

See? dark0821 just confirmed it’s all good. Nobody is doing laps of Nurburgring. Aerodynamics, mathematics, and science? Throw that shit out of here! Rice it to the max like nobody’s business!

Who da fuck steals a wing ?!? Plz come steal my wing. It’s just barely taped on with alien tape from Costco. The tape is worth more than the wing.
