Yeah, 5-10 mins to swap the cluster.
Why didn't you use the old speedo with the correct/lower mileage?

Don't forget, it took 4 big Filipino's to get you wide enough to squat.
1000lbs in the rear

Sweet. Yeah a couple of the connectors are a bitch to get off if they've never been removed. Make sure you plug it in and check the lights before to screw it back in for the last time.

Have the girlfriend's car (2005 Chevrolet Blazer) for a couple weeks while she's cruising around the Interior with mine. Had a new HU installed at Soundsgood, installed a new brushbar w/PIAA spotlights, replaced the calipers and installed new rotors and pads, put in a new fuel filter. Couple other things as well that I've forgotten about.
However, when I went to start it on Friday night to move it in order to replace her e-brake cables, it just kept on cranking and cranking without turning over. Did a few tests and determined her fuel pump died. Fuck.
So... spent this afternoon pulling the tank. Not a fun job, especially when it's never been done before and the entire underside is coating with two metric tons of rocks, dirt and sand. Anyway, this is where it's at while I wait for a new pump to get in.
For the record, I am never, ever buying any GM vehicle made between the 90's and late 00's. They are such shit.

I said fuck it and cut a panel out of the rear floor of my K5. It took less time to modify the panel to screw back into place, than it would have to drop the tank.
You drove it down here on the shit breaks? lol

Looking back, it actually wasn't that big of a job to pull the tank. Eight bolts for the shield and four for the straps. The bitch part was trying to disconnect the stupid squeeze clamps that hook up to the feeder and drain tubes on the pump itself. Ended up breaking two of the plastic tubes inside the clamps. Luckily the whole assembly is being replaced, so it wasn't that big of a deal. No, I imagine the real trouble is going to happen when the tank goes back in. There is one tube that I've no idea how I'm going to reattach and the filler neck is in a super awkward spot on these vehicles.
Oh, and Ice... no, I swapped the brakes up in Salmon Arm before I drove it down to the Lower Mainland. I may be stupid, but I'm not suicidal. |
