| Hotmail account hacked/spam'd
yesterday my hotmail account was hacked/spam'd and sent out an email to everyone in my contacts
now today i can't log in and it takes me to a security warning page saying my account has been blocked ( https://account.live.com/security/Aci.aspx/A1), i click to proceed and then i get sent to this:
Server Error in '/security' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
any help???

call hotmail support, they actually have a line of tech support people I know this because a friend of mine worked for them in Nanaimo call center.
you just have to be clever in finding the right number for it, you will get your account back by calling talkin to them..., they have access to everything obviously... even tier 1 noobies can get into your email and read everything without gettin busted, my buddy did that to his gf the first week he got the job, and found out she was emailing some guy back and forth lol

I think it boils down to this. For your email account, make sure you use a different password than every other thing you register/sign up for. Sometimes people sign up to Groupon or Wagjag or any obscure site with their email address and use the same password as their email account. If that site gets hacked, they've got access to your email account.

odd, my gmail actually sent one of those lame emails. It made me create a new password though, after logging in again.

I used to work at that centre and a co-worker is how I found Revscene.
I can guarantee that anyone you phone at one of these centres will NOT help you resolve a Hotmail issue. Company wide, and to all of the oursourcers, the people who answered these calls hated getting people with free Hotmail accounts asking for help and would never assist them with their issue.
