Magic the Gathering anyone?

I guess this isn't really a hobbies/collectibles forum but it is still a type of gaming. I haven't played MTG for a long time but a friend got me to come out to a pre-release tournament for a new set so I'm getting back into it.

Anyone else play? Or have played?

ahh.. MTG. spent way too much money/time on that game.

I used to play over 15 years ago.. started around 4th edition. two of my friends i played with had started around unlimited.

I have a bunch of cards still, but i'd have to dig them up. I saw some new cards and the abilities are just too crazy now.. it feels like theres so many things to keep track of.

My friends and I were going pretty hard with MTG over the past year or so but it's tapered off a bit now. Was getting pretty nuts.

I used to be crazy over MTG, but I sold all my cards like 5-6 years ago

Been wanting to start again but don't have a friend that wants to join me

So tempting

I used to play, from mirage to about urza saga/6th edition, didn't get into it too much tho since I didn't have a lot of money back then so there wasn't really a way I could've competed

Played back in high school but I couldn't justify the cost back then when I was in grade 8 lol. It was fun though, been meaning to play the PC version on steam just to deck build.

^ I am guessing the card that didn't show up is "channel"?

Like many have said, used to play back in high school, but had to quit when university started. Still have all my cards though, thought about getting back into the "legacy" format since that's where all my cards will be "legal" in.

i played a friend once, he said, just for fun, lets play without the max 4 of a kind rule.
his deck was pretty much red mana and lightning bolts..

that didn't last long.

Been playing for 11 years now. Got into it competitively but sold everything I had like 5 years ago, quit constructed.

Only play limited events now, still keep up with the latest sets and draft on MODO

I'll go to the occasional Grand Prix or PTQ if it's sealed and close by.

Yeah I'm definitely going to that. Will probably draft the set on MODO everyday when it's out.

same here, but the lotus was never in revised it was in unlimited.

its pretty funny i found out that lots of people i know have played it before when they were younger. some still do.
i was at the vancouver fan expo last month and me and a friend picked up two of those cheap $20 premade decks and i taught him. haha
there are so many new types of cards and effects in the game.

Ah man, haven't played since highschool; I started pretty late though, '97 or so, and never played seriously. I think my deck is around somewhere with a stack of reds and a few fireballs...

I used to play back when I was in elementary school, so probably '93-'95ish.

Ran a White/Blue/Green deck that concentrate heavily on preventing damage, countering spells, and cheap, low damage creatures.
