Interesting article about Rota Wheels

Long read but I found it interesting. Learned some new stuff

Question on Durability of ROTA Wheels? | CustomPinoyRides.com - Pinoy Pride In Our Rides!

thoughts?

I've had many Rota's in the past, quality stuff.

Nowhere close compared to the Ray's Engineering forged line of wheels, but they're pretty good.

Thats a pretty good read and writer does hold some strong points in wheel construction and JWL/VIA Standards, although the name brand isnt the most appealing to others I can understand where hes coming from with rotas' design and engineering.

Quoted:
There are only so many ways by which you can come up with spoked designs, and make it work. If one manufacturer takes inspiration from a design made by another, and creates their own rendition of it, is it still a replica?
Though I will not agree that ROTA Wheels are replicas, what I will agree to are that ROTA Wheels have been “inspired” by other designs. Just as the wheels I’ve shown you on the photos above have been inspired by those done by others. Though they were inspired by other brands, ROTA Wheels have their own angles, as well as their own fitment, which is why people can tell them apart from the designs they were inspired from. Now does that still make it a replica? Or is it now an original?

Makes sense in its own way, whos copying who is whats hes trying to say...
But again, I still remember that photo of the subaru(?) with broken cracked rotas from tracking/racing.

Good article, cheers!

Definitely changed the way I view "replica" wheels. Great article!

Good read,
guy has a good heart to write all that to back them up
and stays loyal.

I agree, most broken wheels must be crash related, so I was always neutral with Rota.
Now i have more faith

I have known someone whose rota wheels are cracked by the clamps on a tire clamping machine.

Just sayin'.

Good article to read in the morning! I have no problem with Rota wheels - owners choice and budget.

...my only issue are the odd peeps that try to pass them off as real, which is more funny than anything. :)
