"It looks like we’ll have quite a long wait until the return of Top Gear. In a recent interview with a South African radio show, Clarkson mentioned that Top Gear won’t be returning this year, presumably due to the Olympics."

Jalopnik reported it's not because of the Olympics, but due to Simon Cowell's new show or some shit which just happens to be airing the same time TG was supposed to. Quote:

can't believe they'll skip TG for a season because of a Simon cowell show..i mean for crying out loud it's one of the most viewed tv series..cowell must have paid BBC big bucks for it.
gonna watch some of the earlier seasons then...i start TG at season 12 and I just finished S1 few weeks ago.
is pre2002 old top gear any good? I would give it a try but i probably can't stand the horrible video quality...
