What are you doing with your pennies?

What are you doing with your pennies? Throwing them away? Rolling them and bringing them to the bank?

Just wrote something on my blog about saving pennies.

Jude's Rant

Please check it out and share with friends if you like. It's pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things, but I find it very interesting and a unique opportunity.

Enjoy.

You don't have to roll them.
As embarrassing as it may be, I had it in a 2 extra large ziplock bags..unsorted.
They have a coin sorting machine that they just dump it into, all at once.

They handed me $120 and left over change lol.

I've started to save my pennies.
They're actually pretty useful; I don't want to sound cheap, but every penny counts these days. I used to throw my pennies, dimes, and nickels away all the time and I swear that was at least $50 gone.

When people ask me for change at the bus/skytrain i give penny. Its funy when i have a pocket full of change and sort through it to get penny.

Srs tho, i save dimes but with pennies i normally just leave them on the counters i receive them from.

I just recently saw an ad on craigslist, this guy was selling pre-97 pennies for 3.50 per pound. I suppose this penny sorting thing is starting to catch on. Keep sorting away!

People in other countries drill holes in pennies because it's cheaper than buying washers.

Due to the fact that I hate carrying change in my pocket and my wallet has no change compartment I dump all my change in my car. All the toonies and loonies I take out and roll up and about every 3 months or so I go to the bank which equals to about $200. Quarters and dimes usually go to parking. Nickels and pennies I will take out and carry them when I'm about to walk into a store and know that I will be paying cash. Might be superstore, Churches Chicken or whatever but the nickels and especially pennies will often help with the total in the fact that I will get less change back or at least less pennies etc.
