Mallet Finger?

Ok so I've gotten a mallet finger recently and I've gone to the hospital to get it checked out. They gave me a temporary splint and told me to get a plastic one from a medical supply store/pharmacy. Well I've gotten one, but my fingers are really skinny and they either fit too loose or won't even fit. These are apparently the only ones in the GVR and it's a big annoyance. Cleaning the finger is such a hassle as moving it a slight millimeter will revert all progress.

I took off the splint today to clean it and the sweat has caused my skin to turn white and thick. It's only been one day too!

So my question is, is there any other way to treat a mallet finger besides using this slack splint. I've researched online and found something called a Oval-8 finger splint which looks really convient, but no store here sells it (that I know of) and shipping seems like it will take awhile.

The doctor says it'll take 6-8 weeks for my finger to heal. I don't want to prolong it by cleaning my finger and accidentally move it.
