SpeedPro Dynojet - e46 M3 Dyno base lines

I had the chance to bring my car to the dyno again to do a comparison to the numbers I ran last week on a Mustang Dyno.

To refresh your memories, my only engine modifications are as follows:
1.) Bimmerworld Streamline Intake Arm
2.) Dinan Free Flow Exhaust

Mustang Dyno

The Mustang dyno is extremely conservative, reading at about 230HP, and 200Torque. The graphs they gave me also were a little tricky to read.

SPEEDPRO DYNOJET

Today, I went to SpeedPro. Amazing guys here and provided excellent service. Tamer, the owner of the store was very accommodating, professional, and a stand up guy. The majority of the cars at the shop are American Muscle, and he was very accommodating in helping me do a couple tricks to my BMW to put it in Dyno mode. He knew I babied my car, and took the care to wipe of every finger print, wash his hands before touching my alcantara wheel, and covering the leather seats. Great attention to detail!

These figure are from the Dynojet. As you can see, it is a big difference than the Mustang Dyno as all dynos are different. I prefer the way the information is presented on the Dynojet @ SpeedPro, and will be returning to them after I get my headers installed and MAY BE evolve tune

Never seen a dyno shop using a refrigerator cooling unit as front fan. You probably gained a few horsepower just by doing that.

Not sure what that was - didn't think it was a refrigerator cooling unit. Regardless, it serves its purpose as a fan and providing air

Yep, I've got the exact same unit in my walk-in cooler. Air coming out of that towards your car can be close to freezing.

I think theirs is modified. I put my hand in front to see how much air and it definitely wasn't freezing. May be it is just modified? *shrugs*

Depends on the thermostat setting as well as the BTU's. Mine can get close to freezing if no one has been in to cooler in hours, normally about 4degrees. It's easy to maintain cold air in an enclosed room, since you are just cooling cold air. In their setup, they are cooling ambient air as much as they can, better than just putting a fan in front of the car. Similar to those CO2 kits that spray the intercooler/radiator.

Racing Greed has the Mustang Dyno. The guys there are nice and helpful. The dynojet works better for me as most people on the BMW forums use dynojet, and thus...a litttttlleee closer for comparison

ya iv been to RG a few times. Idk when i was on their dyno it was more about getting more out of my engine or trouble shooting. Never went for just baseline pulls.

Its in the shop right now getting the subframe reinforced with the TMS kit.

After that, just the headers, and spend some money getting time on the track and auto X! :)

It's a chiller. It is hooked up to a cold water supply. It doesn't have refrigerant being pumped through it so it doesn't cool the air super cold. It does work well but I doubt it artificially inflates numbers really. Speedpro are great guys, I haven't been there for a while, hope they're still open! My last project made 540whp on that dyno.
