Back from my trip to Beijing and Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is pretty awesome! Cheap food. Literally you can have a full breakfast for around $3.50 and it will stuff you. There cheap eats everywhere so you don't go hungry. In terms of shopping a lot of clothing is almost the same price as Canada (maybe even more expensive.) They have cheap stuff and also very expensive stuff. I wasn't able find much clothing that fits me. In terms of buying runners they have a lot of special editions shoes, you have to look for the store though. Also there are lot's to do at night. Literally you can see people waling around even after mid night. Lot's of fun place to go partying or just have a drink with friends.
Weather in Hong Kong wasn't too bad. It wasn't too hot but hotter than Vancouver for sure. Basically if you don't want to sweat spend your days at the mall. Most of the time I wear T-shirts and shorts.
Meeting new people is super easy in HK. I was able to use Tinder and WeChat randomly to chat to a few girls and ask them out for coffee or go out for food. They also seem pretty open. I actually meet a girl who loves to travel and we have tons to chat. Even now we are still chatting. She is currently in UK now and plan to come to Vancouver for a visit in Dec. So unless you have like no social skills at all getting a girl is super easy in HK (Pointing fingers at Joe_45).
Hong Kong public transportation is just awesome. You can literally get anywhere you want to go with the MTR. Also the octopus card is awesome! You load it with money and you can use to on bus, mini bus, MTR, Ferries, you can even use to pay for things at tons of stores (ie 7-11, McDonalds, vairous supermarkets, restaurant even clothing store). So easy to use.
Hong Kong is very crowded. Basically you have to line up for everything from getting food, paying, taking the MTR to going to washroom. Also you have to push your way into the MTR. It doesn't help when you have mainders chinese with luggage everywhere. I can see why people in Hong Kong are so against them. They simply don't care and try to push their way around or get in front of a line up. Actually one try to do that me and I start speaking English and start swearing at them and push them out of the line. Funny enough they didn't argue with me, simply they go to the back of the line. This lead me to believe they only like to push local Hong Kong people around and when face with a foreigner they simply are too chicken to do anything.
Overall I think Hong Kong is a nice place to visit but not for too long. There simply isn't enough space.
