I was listening to Cory S after the charity game and the he didn't seem too excited about the season starting in Nov and playing the full schedule, I believe someone else the team interviewed wasn't really happy about it neither. As much as I respect the players I still can't imagine that playing a extra 2 games a week was that big of a deal to fit in the full schedule, I mean for god sakes you've been sitting at home since April and you make millions of dollars so what's there to bitch about.

I disagree.
I would have preferred if the season started in Nov/Dec, to have a shortened season like what the NBA did last season.
It gives time for our boys to rest up [especially Kesler] and we won't have to deal with his stupid skate-in-no-pass-take-a-wrist-shot for 82 games
Playing 82 games in a season takes its toll on players. And having to play 1-2 EXTRA games in a week compared to other seasons must be tiring.
I don't get how anybody can be on the owners' side.
The players offered to go to 50/50 right away, as long as all current contracts are honoured. And Bettman said no way. Kind of defeats the purpose of signing a contract, no?
So it seems pretty clear that the owners throwing big money and long terms around the last 1-2 years had no intention of following through on those commitments, and now they want Bettman to fix the mess they created.
Even IF a full 82 game schedule was salvaged, I predict that MG would be very methodical about ensuring that the key players don't get overworked by the condensed schedule, plus we have kids on the farm who could step up and get some needed experience while chewing up some minutes, at least until AV decides that he's seen enough but he won't have Aaron Rome to fall back on anymore

They should call up replacement players (like that movie about football replacement players, I think it was called, The Amateurs) and start the season.

You've obviously never played competitive sports lol. Especially in a heavy contact sport like hockey.
